Lots of love between the Nix and the Griff in that article.

Be interesting to see if the club helps him rehab.

Think that will be a while away now as operation won't be for another 4-6 weeks then the recovery.

He is covered by the PFA now isn't he and paid by there insurance?

Assume he would want to rehab in Newcastle with his family.

I would say Valeo is correct. He will likely head home for the operation and initial phase of rehab. Then I guess he will look at his options and maybe return to train with the team when he can walk again.

Confirmed rupture of ACL in left leg. Interesting to note in the article that the Nix where going to offer him a contract extention for next season and he was thinking it over and was likely to sign.

Thats what I found interesting as well. I guess I can see why they wanted him because he is a striker with a proven record and so far in his Phoenix career, he did nothing that made himself attract new fan angst. I would suspect that offer may no longer be appropriate because I would be surprised if he is back by this time next year.

Hope it all goes well.

Unfortunately though, being on the wrongside of 35 it will be some recover if he ever makes it back to anything approaching A League level. Even if he were to get back to that level of fitness, after a year, not many clubs would be willing to take a risk on a 36 and a half year old striker, who will have lost speed and agility and confidence as a result of the injury and the additional year

surprised to read he was going to be offered another contract.  Still wish him speedy recovery..not a great injury to have got at this stage of career.

Would be a good signing for a Masters team then though!

Yeah I guess he would have been an easy signing and gave us cover for up front, but I don't see him getting a contract now and he might have a hard time getting any new contract if/when he recovers.

Merick was on the news saying all the right things, on the news saying the nix would help Griffiths rehab, etc. Was also saying we wont sign a replacement for the finals series.

Domey, why not stick it on a big billboard - No One has asked about Burns? Surely we should keep a low profile on it so no one shows an interest?

Or maybe he's trying to get someone to offer a cool million or so?

True. I hope he starts this season off like he did the last one and with no mid season distractions this time, that said form is maintained.
