Everyone knows a club is not a real football club until you have a mass brawl at training at least once a week.

That way everyone's on their toes. Or not, as the case may be.el grapadura2008-08-27 22:41:20

i'm pretty sure that 1982 famous all white john hill is irish, either way it's a different chap from '1992 stop out under dugdale englishman' hilly.

i remember hilly giving you stick dunc; didn't like the prospect of competing with a young upstart like yourself, so kicked lumps out of ya!

i also remember arriving home from training on serveral occasions that season feeling somewhat beaten up.  puts hairs on your chest though doesn't it!?

No, That was in 1992 I think under Ken Dugdale. Hilly was a big englishman. He's a Toffee but he wasnt a scouser. Hard as nails. Reg22 will know his history.Reg..??
Te Whitti park, what a great ground it used to be! We were at the raceway then

Ken Dugdale - another balst from the past BigDunc.  If Leilei had got offside with Ken, he would have got more than a friendly tickle to the throat!

handbags stuff.

Johnno 'I See your lot cheated at the Olympics?"

Leilei "You mean like your lot in 2000?"

johnno "I'll show you a new Taikwandoe technique, take this".

Seriously though, as pointed out I bet TVNZ (other than Pippa) couldn't believe their good luck to get in a cheap shot.

I hate to see some of Roy keanes efforts at the old trafford Training fround. He was the supreme perfectionist when it came to training etc and wouldn't put up with any crap from what I hear.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

I once saw one player run over a team mate in a combined harvester after an arguement at training about a throw in.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

Happens more often than people think.

would love too see the footage before Johnson grabs Gao, something must have happened. I had kinda thought that Gao had tackled Johnson too vigorously but the fact that Johnson had to walk quite a distance to get to him, I'm guessing not???

Maybe Ricki had just name the starting 11, Geo in  -  Johnson out !!!!!!!  Have seen many
" incidents " like this over many years, top players competing in top teams need to have an edge and sometimes it goes over " the edge"  But as Lonequnmen said  " Handbag stuff ".

Look at it this way..... it shows footballers aren't actualy a bunch of poofters, Ricki Herbert got it spot on about a bit of niggle being a good thing, any publicity is good publicity escpecially when it illustrates it's a man's game and the players have a bit of passion and last but not least (as said before me here) this is NORMAL training ground stuff.
Has the world got too PC mamby pamby or what.......????? It's about winning and when you are passionate about winning passions can boil over. Rest assured these two will be trying to knock each other out of the team, that can only be good as it will ensure they are always giving 100% on the field.
Another thing to note, Gao is a bit of a prima donna and Richie was just helping him understand it's not really a good way to be.
Here here ......

yeah good on them. obviously had a disagreement and a bit of push and shove, nothing wrong with it. shows some passion and a bit of aggression, both of which we could use on the pitch so it's good to see that intensity at training.

Im pritty sure Rich knows he was already lucky to still be playing football as it is after the law run in last year

as long as this doesnt leak oto the field like valeo said then i dont mind about this, i imagine tensions would be high after thier performances.
