It's Callan Elliot again.

They've signed him twice as a sneaky way around squad minimums.

I enjoy people trying to rate players they haven't seen play.

Harsh. I think anyone masochistic enough to sit through a DM's 45 minute 'every touch' scouting video deserves an opinion.

Mandi's pedigree, TM player valuation and rating site scores give a bit of a clue too, though fitness and a family issue might change things; hoping he finds top form and settles in to Wellington.

That video was very funny, I have to admit.

Either way, Mandi is a good looking fella so it will make it easier to get the wife to watch.

Jesus, Musialik and Wheelhouse, those are really blasts from the past. I remember thinking SM was really good...about 10 years ago.

Genuinely thought most of those players had already retired

Yeah I'm puzzled as to what happened with SM's career, he was pretty decent as a young player. We don't need cover for his position though.

Was there supposed to be another signing today or am I going crazy?

If it's just the Elliot announcement that'll be a major let-down. Anticipating only a minor let-down.

Transfer window is shut, so it will only be Elliot. As someone posted, we have a few NPL players over atm to look at for the 20th roster spot.

Fifa:

"Players may only be registered during one of the two annual registration periods fixed by the relevant association....As an exception to this rule, a professional whose contract has expired prior to the end of a registration period may be registered outside that registration period."

Free agent professionals (and Nix reserves, academy) only for the final spot?

NPL season finished, so players are off contract & its an 'amateur' league.

Anyone know how many Npl trialists are with the club at the moment? Or if Wilkins succeeded in his trial?

That strategy is even more fudgeed up when we don't have a full squad and name the same player twice!!!

Hope David Dome is driving and Morrison is riding his Morrison bicycle as a result but something tells me he doesn't give a fudge

Rudan mentioned in the One News interview that we're still actively looking at a marquee, and that he's gone to the board to ask them to sign him - but obviously money is the issue, and we're going to go to the FFA to seek funds.

Interesting. My guess is Torres.

One unnamed club is in early negotiations with an uncontracted player, but all signs point to another marquee arriving in January when more stars become available. Having narrowly missed out on Fernando Torres, O'Rourke confirmed the Spaniard remains a target.

It's not Josh Wilkins he just re-signed with Heidelburg Utd.

Rudan said the person they are talking to is currently uncontracted so it can't be Torres.

Won't happen unless Krishna becomes a NZ Citizen anyway. Unless the marquee is an Aussie.

Bit harsh to write-off a player before he's even played one proper A-League game. I'm thinking of starting the Koppa fan club :)

Anichebe could be good. Bent is too lazy, Huth too old

I'd take Agbonlahor, massive amount of EPL experience and I think he would do well in the A-League.

He is the type that'd do well - lots of experience, has never really fired at the top level except for one season, has had a few injuries - bit Ifill-esque, really, though Agbonlahor was more about pace than skill.

By now you'd think he's getting sick of the grind of English football.

So many options for chants too

Are You Gonna Go My Way - Lenny Kravitz

My Way - Frank Sinatra

I want it that Way - Backstreet Boys

Born this Way - Lady Gaga

Heidelberg have him listed as a forward, 7 shirt. Powerful L foot.

Doesn't score that often. More cards than goals.
