Or Stuart Pearce!

Piney said 100% no on Twitter

Thank god. Wasn't Pearce recently discovered as statisically the most average manager of all time? Or do I misremember?

Think that was AW

Pending flights he will be here by 1st of June?

I hope this line is not illustrative of a CEO whom will be leading us during our last three years of our trial period when our existence is on the line

I never thought Dome was the sharpest knife in the drawer but judging by that statement he may be the bluntest

Put him on a fudgein boat then Dome if you can't find an economy flight in 11 days

Better than handing it to Paul Dickov.

Probably has to pack up his life and move over too. That can take some time. Do they have Vic deal in Europe?

Would Ramon count as have a deep knowledge of European football?

Would Ramon count as have a deep knowledge of European football?

he does (as well as a deep knowledge of Australian football), and he doesn't need to worry about immigration, but if it was going to be Ramon I'm pretty sure we would have heard in the week after the OCL final

Euro coach chosen from a final short list of six: 3 from Europe, 2 from Australia, 1 from NZ (Ramon). That's how I read it.

It would be nice if it were Ramon. Hammering Team Wellington 5 nil over two legs, shows he's got a plan A, B and C.

He really has played a broad cross section of world styles.  He's also pretty good at turning C grade players into competitive world class journeymen.

He wouldn't need to get a visa to coach in NZ, so it is not him. I would assume he was the NZ based manager who made the final shortlist of eight.

Strongest rumours online are that the new coach is Darije Kalezic, born in Switzerland of Montenegrin and Bosnian parentage.

See comments section below this article:

http://www.stuff.co.nz/dominion-post/sport/footbal...

Kalezic's Wikipedia:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darije_Kalezi%C4%87

He's a good age at 47 with lots of experience coaching in the Netherlands.

Playing career in Bosnia and in Holland (Eredivisie)

Coached in Eredivisie (De Grafschaap, Roda JC) and Dutch second tier (won the title with De Grafschaap; and he also coached PSV Eindhoven reserve team for two seasons)

Most recently he was coaching Roda JC in the Dutch Eredivisie (until May 2016) and in Saudi Arabia with Al-Taawoun.

Kalezic already had A-League scouting contacts when he was at Roda JC and had three Aussies playing under him there - Tommy Juric, Royston Griffiths and Danny de Silva (ex Perth Glory youngster)

He's never stayed more than two seasons at a single club (coaching as a first team manager since 2009) and was only at Stockport County for two months and Zulte Waregam in the Belgian top flight for half a season.

It doesn't say who the Visa is for... Remon's mrs would need a visa as she has never come out to nz the entire time he has been coaching ACFC. She was here for the last couple of weeks and was in Welli for the TW final recently...

Agree it probably isn't Remon although I guess it was wishful thinking. Remon would be a great fit considering his knowledge of local, Aussie players and has proved he can take on some pretty big teams and win. He deserved a shot but another case of the owners not thinking what we have on our front door is good enough yet a stranger who knows nothing about our local players will be better.

news agencies: hi phoenix, is the coach darije kalezic, a combination of a rumour from a podcast with a sharke track record and some sleuthing suggest he's possible?
