It was a horror injury, but I will admit I had to laugh. Got turned, big time

There was a match to talk about though, it's called Perth v Wellington.

Was a funny episode nevertheless, thank you.

Which was played on 07-02 through 08-02. The above came out on the 5th.  So we talked about Perth v Nix this week, as is the norm

Are you guys/girl still recording this week?

The rain was torrential, and so were the Nix, running rampant against the Snakes everywhere other than the scoreboard. Team Wellington made up some ground on Auckland thanks to a shock Tasman United win.

Should be ok, they are just not allowed more than 500 people into the recording room ;)

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

The Ruf, The Ruf, The Ruf is on Fire!!

about 6 years ago · edited about 6 years ago · History

The Phoenix dispatched the Victory with relative ease, and both teams now head into isolation during a strange time in the league. The pod look at the decision made to continue playing, what it looks like for the Nix, and what might happen as the rest of the season attempts to be played.

Note: this podcast was recorded on the evening of Wednesday 18th March, and not all information around COVID-19 has remained accurate.

Hey everyone.

With COVID-19 obviously going to affect daily life significantly for most of us, I thought I'd let you know that we are going to attempt to keep the podcast going.

We made a call last week that we wouldn't record in the same room as each other until it was considered safe to do so, so had started getting ready to record remotely already. We're working through the logistics of recording in four different locations, with the producer in a fifth location, while maintaining the high production levels we strive for. We're getting there and hope to be up and running this week.

We'll keep you posted, and we will have to work out what to talk about when there is literally no football to talk about.

Kia kaha, stay safe, and forget to love each other.

Hey it would be awesome if you guys can hatch a pod despite the barriers. Love it.

The pod go remote! Recording from the comfort of each of their own homes, we look at the postponment of the A-League, and what it will mean for both the future of the Nix and the A-League. Meanwhile, the W-League final was played, and NZF have appointed coaches to the men's teams.

Good pod thanks everyone, sound quality good, helped me get through weeding the garden, liked the discussion on why the ffa couldn't look like they wanted to pull out.

The clubs have begun to stand down their players, so the pod respond by placing Frostie on temporary leave too and Patrick hosts a pod with no football to talk about. Tim Payne and Oli Sail go for a joy ride, and Radio Sport is abruptly pulled off the air and shut down - will more sports media follow?

As an aside, I'd love to know if any of you listeners have any feedback about how the remote pods are going in terms of audio quality, are they still listenable?

Obviously the ease of conversation is going to take a slight dip with us not being at a table together, but I hope we're doing a decent job. We're also working on getting Ella a microphone too.

I haven't got through the first one completely but I thought the quality was excellent. The audio not the content obviously. 9/10 would listen again.

Yeah no issues with the audio, thxs for the pod.

Well done again Podders. Audio quality good. I'm glad you did a big section on Radio Sport. A massive loss, esp Pineys football work and the cricket commentaries. I used to get peeved listening to them being Radio Rugby, but couldn't imagine them not existing.

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

Well done guys. This was excellent and actually thought you were all in the same room for a while bar Ella. I listen to a handful of seemingly more 'professional' podcasts produced by ESPN, Gaurdian, Talksport and must say that your quality is far far superior to their product. Bravo.
