I went in and bought my 5, but im giving them away to work mates who have yet to have attended a phoenix game. Should be a good way to get these guys hooked especially if the Nix down trail the Jets like last time! And seeing as sales are a little slow i may head in this arvo and pick up some more and hand them out to a few others

Top effort.

PAX Shmax.

The 5,000 $5 tickets all have PAX numbers around the 10k - 12k mark and we know they are far from sold out yet so who knows.

For the smaller crowds (under 10k) PAX seems to be a pretty unreliable guide anyway. The crowd is often smaller than the PAX numbers reported on here prior to games. I think PAX probably includes 3-4k of stadium members, many of whom don't attend Nix games.

On the other hand, the weather forecast is good and it's a huge game so hopefully we can still get close to 10k along.

17 more people going from us. Hopefully more from work (one colleague went and got some on Wednesday after I mentioned them) and kids' footy teams.

Wellington's Playoffs Ambitions In The Balance

Captain Andrew Durante knows the outcome of this crucial match will mean a lot to both his team and their supporters.

"Our supporters, especially the Yellow Fever, have been fantastic right through, but if ever we needed them it is now,'' he said.

"Everyone realises how important this game is and the fans can help us get over the line.''

A workmate bought 3 tickets today after I told her about the $5 deal and another mate in Wellington might make it as well.
Got mine sorted. Makes the trip from Palmy a bit cheaper. More beer money at the BB!!!

Was in the club store today at 4.50pm to get some more of the $5 tickets, and disappointingly there were still stacks of them.

May do another run tomorrow and start giving them away to random people on the street.

Disappointing, but fire up people! this is going to be massive.

From the Wellington Phoenix Facebook: Note there are still $5 tickets available at the Phoenix Store for the Newcastle Jets game on Sunday (kick off 5pm). These will NOT be available for sale at Westpac Stadium so you need to get them today and Saturday only at the Phoenix Store

Wow - you guys are so awesome! Tpmyhill has already offered to get tickets for us, so we'll go with that. $5 makes the trip from Whanganui that much sweeter. And it will be even sweeter when we hammer Newcastle ... again.

PS. Has any one heard about a player who has just re-signed with the Phoenix for next season? Heard the end of some thing on the radio but wasn't sure who it was.
