Re the whole amateur player thing.. how would it work if the Amateur player trialled for the Nix. Would that still incur a 4 week stand-down?

DON'T RETIRE GRANDADI!
I'D MISS YOU.
Thank you and Junior, loyal mates!

THE prediction is here........

SydJames 1    The Mighty Phoenix 1

Be happy, and remember......

We are the Phoenix. We can beat anyone (except not tonight, 'cos it'll be a draw, but that's OK because we're in the Finals anyway, so suck it up you 6th+ lot, hahahahaha)

Nostalgia isnt what it used to be...........

30 day rule is found here
http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/affederation/administration/01/27/64/30/regulationsstatusandtransfer2010_e.pdf

3.1:  A player registered as a professional may not re-register as an amateur until at least 30 days after his last match as a professional.

Assume 'match' is classified as being on the bench, rather than playing in the game.

Nah 2-1 to the nix! My prediction Leo today was goals to Greenacre and Clapham! That guy is going to be so hungry to prove himself to Ricki. If he scores, we will sign him in a flash!

Yes, but playing for a professional team doesn't automatically make the PLAYER professional does it, if he plays for free?

It's a professional competition, if you are registered as a player in it you are registered as a professional.

At the same time for an injury replacement doesn't the player remain registered at his normal club? There is no re-registering going on. As I said before, we'll see who's right in a few days time.

from that same document as before

" 2 Status of players: amateur and professional players
1. Players participating in organised football are either amateurs or
professionals.
2. A professional is a player who has a written contract with a club and is paid
more for his footballing activity than the expenses he effectively incurs. All
other players are considered to be amateurs. "

I'm not saying anyone is wrong.

I am merely pointing out how the rules are stated and how this has been worked in the past for players in this situation.

When has this actually happened before?

Ivan Vichelich when he went to, and came back from China.

Vichelich actually transferred though. I believe this is different.

Can't be registered for two clubs.

Also. Jacob Spoonley and Phil Imray at the start of last season when we only had one fit keeper.

One week Spoonley was on the bench but then returned to Auckland so that 4 weeks later he could be available for the O-League opener.  The next week Imray came in for a game because the NZFC started a week later than the O-League so he could bench without impacting his availability four weeks later.

We don't really care who we play for the finals, do we? I figure Gold Coast at home is probably just as hard as Adelaide, or am I wrong?
We don't even know which of them will be 3rd/4th anyway

I believe you are not subject to the regulations if you have your fingers crossed behind your back when you sign the papers.

Gold Coast easier to get to, plus 5th would mean a very slight chance of home in the nest round if we won away.  Which we won't.

I hope you're right- Clapham to score would be brilliant, but I don't think Sydney will let him run

Yes.

Publish an article make sure it is grammatically correct, basic requirement for journalism prior to the world of the web, but now it's getting looser and looser.

Pffft.  Half of what is printed doesn't go through a fact checker, let alone Grammar and spelling.

Timothy Potter - Trainspotter Went round taking video of trains with his camcorder, in particular British Rail Class 37 locomotives, then had "one off the wrist" whilst playing back the videos on the telly. Often portrayed as being very short sighted for example he mistook a set of golf clubs for his brother

Why 37's ?  Sure they're prolific but not a patch on 55's or 40's.  Give me a Deltic anyday.

Grandfather drove steam loco's & I used to build the engines for the Class37/9

p.s. Musa to have the ball hit him squarely in the chops, then to rebound into the back of their net for a scrappy 1-0 win

Nah! Even the MB275 was a baby engine for us. 130 ton 24500BHP @ 600rpm from the KV18Major was our usual engine.
