Re the whole amateur player thing.. how would it work if the Amateur player trialled for the Nix. Would that still incur a 4 week stand-down?

3.1:  A player registered as a professional may not re-register as an amateur until at least 30 days after his last match as a professional.

Assume 'match' is classified as being on the bench, rather than playing in the game.

Nah 2-1 to the nix! My prediction Leo today was goals to Greenacre and Clapham! That guy is going to be so hungry to prove himself to Ricki. If he scores, we will sign him in a flash!

Yes, but playing for a professional team doesn't automatically make the PLAYER professional does it, if he plays for free?

It's a professional competition, if you are registered as a player in it you are registered as a professional.

At the same time for an injury replacement doesn't the player remain registered at his normal club? There is no re-registering going on. As I said before, we'll see who's right in a few days time.

Also. Jacob Spoonley and Phil Imray at the start of last season when we only had one fit keeper.
 
One week Spoonley was on the bench but then returned to Auckland so that 4 weeks later he could be available for the O-League opener.  The next week Imray came in for a game because the NZFC started a week later than the O-League so he could bench without impacting his availability four weeks later.

We don't really care who we play for the finals, do we? I figure Gold Coast at home is probably just as hard as Adelaide, or am I wrong?
We don't even know which of them will be 3rd/4th anyway

Gold Coast easier to get to, plus 5th would mean a very slight chance of home in the nest round if we won away.  Which we won't.

I hope you're right- Clapham to score would be brilliant, but I don't think Sydney will let him run

Timothy Potter - Trainspotter � Went round taking video of trains with his camcorder, in particular British Rail Class 37 locomotives, then had "one off the wrist" whilst playing back the videos on the telly. Why 37's ?  Sure they're prolific but not a patch on 55's or 40's.  Give me a Deltic anyday.

Tennant 2-4-0 for me..3 x great grandfather drove them in 1880s in North East speed races.  Go Nix...
