Drove past Eden Park. Ferk me, that stand is enormous. I sure hope that they close off most of the stands so everyone sits in the same area like at ROF. If 10,000 to 15000 people are spread out over the whole stadium it will have a morgue like atmosphere(except for YF zone). Plus it will look crap on TV.

Pretty sure the tv cameras will face the ASB Stand where the Yellow Fever are (that's what they do for the Blues). Apart from that, most people will be on the main stand and the east stand. At least they are not using the second tier though.

Well, based on who is in and out, here's what i think the lineup should be:

               Paston/Warner

Lia/Muscat        SigmUnd        Dura        Lochhead

                  Muscat/Lia

Bertos              Brown                 Daniel

            Greenacre      Smith

Bench:
Warner / Paston
Ifill
Tsatallios
Griffiths

Bring Ifill on after about 60 - 70 mins, ease him back into a start. Take off Bertos.

Tsatallios on for Daniel later on in the piece, just to bring on some raw pace running at tired legs. Put him on the left too, cause it seems his right is only for standing on.

Griffiths on for Lia when he's tired, and make sure Manny moves into DM position when that change happens (if he's not already there)

Smith / Brown interchanging on attack.

Nix to win 5 - 2. 1 - 1 at half time. Manny to score a blinder with his left laces into the top right hand corner, leaving Galekovic flat footed and wondering why he ever became a keeper. Any questions?goldienz2011-11-18 11:44:09

No idea how well PAX is. But just got 2 tickets in the 17,000 range

I had plenty of lols reading this Goldie

Nick the Greek is a defender and only a LB. He came of for Daniel cause last week Daniel got injured and we had no other option.
Smith is a midfielder, not a striker but yet we keep trying to put midfielders up front (Bertos, Daniel, Ifill). Why can't we put on a system that fits the players we have?
No Nick Ward either, means a midfield of nothingness creatively which would really waste your two striker theory

Dont think we can trust the PAX numbers as another guy said his PAX numbers were 15k on his tickets which he got last night, cant imagine selling 2k tickets from last night till 11am this morning (although hoping im wrong). From other numbers I have heard (6.5 and 8 a day or so ago) I would be thinking they had sold around 10k by end of yesterday and hopefully up to 12k by the end of today meaning that would need a big walk up crowd to get over 15k, the weather forecast is looking clear so that should help.

I would imagine that it would be pretty unchanged from last weekend, mainly depending on fitness of Lia and Ifill. So that's:

           Warner
Muscat SigmUnd Durante Lochhead
      Smith    Brown
Bertos     Ward      Daniel
          Greenacre

With regards to the midfield shape, Daniel did seem to be a straight swap for Sanchez in the first half with Ward and Bertos on the wings, Ward did a decent job defending Stefanutto and Broich when he drifted wider. So the 3 AM I would imagine being pretty fluid in their positions.

Bench:
Paston
Griffiths
Lia
Ifill

Just saw Brent Griffiths walking down Queen St. So the Phoenix are definitely going to show up. This isn't all jokes.

Walking through downtown I have seen nothing promoting the game.....just an ad in the paper.

I've seen about 5 billboards around various places. More than I've ever seen for the Blues/Auckland ITM Cup tbh. And if you walk down Kingsland there must be a couple hundred posters plastered all over the show. I think they've done a stellar effort. Much better than either the All Whites Hondouras game or the Beckham debacle.

Thats good to hear...I'll keep looking!!!

Tried to get some of my Akld rellies to come. What a useless bunch  "its too far..", "we never go into town.."(from Takapuna..FFS the game is not in Sydney)

I guess its true what they say about Aklds getting out to see stuff!!

We will decide that after the game mate

Papas pizza open early for those going to the game. Right across the road from eden park.

EDIT.

Also, are the Pax numbers right? Should easily be over 20k then because get a couple thousand walk in's too on gameday. Cheeps2011-11-18 13:30:03

Legend has it that these pizzas are very very tasty, some of the best in town, and they're licensed.
If you prefer Mexican food I can recommend El Caminos, up the road from the Kingslander, best burritos I've ever had.
Also a good Indian place (I think it's called Little India) across the road from the Kingslander, good prices and good reviews.
If gourmet burgers are a bit more you, Handmade Burgers at the Bond St end of New North Rd (5mins walk from Kingslander/Neighbourhood)are awesome.

Spoilt for choice :)

Back streets of Kingsland. Try Kingsland Avenue, or 2nd Avenue...

5 min (max) walk to Kingsland for a thirst quencher, then a 5 min walk to the ground. Or you're right there on the train platform if you want to catch a train into the city to go to Foxes too (if you get there early enough to make that worth the effort).

has the added advantage of after the match you're committed to a 5 min walk back to Kingsland... more thi8rst quenching opportunities and several kick-arse dining options too.

Three pubs, and Mexican place, a French place.

For those who can't understand Ricki's massive manlove for Tim Brown, does it help to realise that Luciano Trani shared it?

Awesome!
Especially because most folk I know up here are notorious for not booking ahead, just about everyone I know would rather just buy tickets at the gate. Not sure why

Pretty sure those figures arent accurate here is another article released a few hours ago "Interest in the Wellington Phoenix's match at Eden Park tomorrow is starting to build with about 10,500 tickets sold for the game against Adelaide United"

As it's been stated before, the PAX number itself is not accurate, but the rate of change is.

Sounds like it'll be closer to 10k than 20k. Still, like I said - anything over 10 is good
