On the other had, Tsattalios has technical ability and pace. Looks like a decent player. Then again, Along with Brown, Lochhead will always be in the team as long as Herbert is managing.

When he's not around or not in form we do tend to miss him. Agreed though he can leave some big gaps at the back at times that need tidying up by others.

Open your eyes man.... that on Sunday was the best I think I have seen Lochy play in any shirt. He was involved in pretty well everything good that the nix did. The first half alone he knocked in at least half a dozen crosses that lead to very good scoring oppotunities. Defensively he is very solid. Have you forgotten his return to the side last year coincided with a great run, admittedly his return allowed manny to play in DM, but his contribution to the squad at the moment can not be under estimated

I'm not arguing with you, see my first sentance. We are not as good without him.

He does however leave gaps. Two spring to mind on Sunday, one that Siggy cleared and the other Bertos of all people tracked back to tidy up. That's because he goes forward, that's what happens when you have an attacking fullback.

Sorry my comments were actually directed at nz seb. you are right with leaving gaps but that is inevitable with an attacking fullback

I get the criticism of hoofing down the line, and sometimes giving the ball away, but defensively he is very good.

Check out our record of conceding goals with and without him in the backline.

I like attacking fullbacks, although I think Lochhead may be a better winger than Leo

Agreed. You need to watch the vid again. We haven't knocked the ball round like this ever - apart from Brown's tragic errors (missed goal - and ball loss in leadup to penalty) - they look so damn good, and gave it heaps. Lockhead was outstanding. Sanchez looks a gem. Just a pity we don't have a top quality striker. Would like to see Smith start up front - gotta shake something up friday up front - otherwise it'll be same old result, with no Ifill.

Yeah, until he gets close to scoring it should stop.

I understand the 'shooooot' more as a statement of the YF's reasonable expectation that a Nix goalkeeper should be able to score from his own penalty box.

Lets hope for a good game with no injuries to either side... of course a Mariner win is what we all want ... well maybe not all... maybe only me...

Will be interesting to see your crowd and compare Friday night to a Sunday afternoon ... and how much weekend press you get...

agreed... stop the Shooooot rubbish. Its so last season...

Fridays game weill be telling. we need discipline, other teams are as bad but if we can stop the cards for 2 games or more we'll have a full side while otheres are suspended.
WE need to get our Fortress back!

I think also with the discipline record over the last three weeks, the refs will be 'keeping an eye on us' for the next couple of weeks. I'd say our discipline will have to be near perfect, cause we'll be picked on a bit (all due to our own doing)

Wishing i could be there to try and taunt Matt Ryan like i was trying to with Covic last week. Need seats closer to the keepers i think.

Totally agree....back to back home losses would be a major blow....especially with a game against the Roar next week. We need the 3 points to stay in touch.
I'm sure the lads will do the business. CCm are a very good team, it will be a tough game.....for e Nix 1-0....dirty Sanchez goal in second half

"It is ironic that the 21-year-old gets his first Phoenix start thanks to central defender Ben SigmUnd being suspended after receiving a red card in last Sunday's unlucky 1-2 loss to Melbourne Victory.

Griffiths holds an unwanted A-League record after being shown two red and three yellow cards in the five games he played for Perth Glory last season.

"That doesn't sound too good does it?" Griffiths said with a smile.

Wellington Phoenix v Central Coast Mariners
Friday 4th November, 7.30pm

Spread the Fever this Friday and help get Wellington back to winning ways at Westpac!

Fever Zone, it's time to turn Westpac into a fortress once more. After last week's disappointing loss to Melbourne Victory, Phoenix need to bounce back straight away, and have the opportunity to do so with their second consecutive home match. So get a ticket today and get ready to make Westpac a cauldron of noise for the visit of Central Coast Mariners.

Defeat to Victory was tough to swallow, especially considering the visitors hadn't previously won this season, but the two-goal and one man deficit Wellington found themselves facing was too high a mountain to climb and, despite a goal from Dani Sanchez and a late onslaught, they came away on the end of a surprise home loss.

The performance in general though, showed signs that, with a little more luck, they can turn things around this weekend. They dominated at times and attacked strongly, especially down the left, while the battling qualities they showed when hunting for an equaliser can leave nobody in any doubt as to their passion and commitment to the cause.

It was hard to believe that they were a man down as they forced Victory onto the back foot in the closing stages.

With Paul Ifill still in the treatment room, Wellington will also be without Ben SigmUnd for the visit of Mariners, after his red card which led to the decisive Victory penalty. But then, Ricki Herbert must be growing accustomed to such selection headaches by now.

Central Coast Mariners hop over the ditch with a new-found spring in their step having picked up their first win of the Hyundai A-League 2011/12 season with a thrilling comeback against Perth Glory, who previously held a 100 percent record.

Teenage striker Bernie Ibini-Isei was the hero at Bluetongue Stadium last Saturday, grabbing the winner on the stroke of half-time after Matt Simon had equalised Travis Dodd's early header.

At the other end, the Mariners' back-line performed excellently in the second-half to repel Glory's many attacks and maintain the slender advantage. With three points being jubilantly celebrated by the Yellow Army, they will see the fine win as a springboard for their team to push on up the ladder.

Graham Arnold will be looking for his players to keep the momentum going with a similarly fine performance this Friday.

Of their twelve previous meetings, honours are dead even, with both sides recording five wins and two games ending all-square. Mariners don't have a bad record in Wellington, having only lost three of their seven games there.

However, The Fever Zone will be sure to remind the Yellow Army that their last visit ended in a 2-0 loss, with Leo Bertos and Paul Ifill doing the damage.

It's set to be a fantastic Friday night as Wellington and Central Coast go to-toe-to. Both sides will be looking at this game as an opportunity to push on up the ladder, but which will emerge victorious?

One thing is certain, there will be no shortage of commitment and passion on the pitch, but the question is, can you match it in the stands?

Pull on your colours and ready your singing voices. Let's kick off Week 5 of the Hyundai A-League 2011/12 season with a cracker. Be a part of the drama!
