We must talk about this.

It's a very important game.

If we win - a gr8 psychological uplift before we face the pussies the week after.  And a gr8 reward for our promising play so far this season.

Draw - angst.  We're losing our "banker"  (i.e., our home form).

Lose - melancholy.

Hoping for something like this. Bertos was rubbish against the Tards, and so was Ward, so I don't want either of them to start. We need players on both wings though, as that has been our main attacking outlet. Tsats looked promising at RB against Kewell and co (apart from Archie cutting inside him before the goal), so I would give him another go at RB and push Manny up into defensive midfield.

Smith at his natural position of Striker, hopefully he can take advantage of the chances we have been creating.

This is the formation i'm hoping to see, however, i know this won't happen...

With intense CM competition in Manny, Brown, Ward & Smith, i want Ricki to drop Brown for a game, this might do good to him, and probably bring his work rate & commitement back, so as Leo...I would use Ward at RM in a more defensive oriented approach to cover Satellite, also hopefully he could make some great crosses like the one to Brown agaist the jets...i would sub Leo on at 65min park to run at defenders at pace...and see how he goes.

Smith & Greeny upfront to provide support to each other. simply because: a), Smith is a natual striker b), we need more options upfront and Greenie needs more support.

Manny back to his prefered DM, simply because: a) give Satellite another chance to impress, especially at home, this is a good timing, and i felt he did OK last night. b) Manny to DM to provide cover for Dura and especially Griffiths...tbh i have totally lost my trust to Brown at CM, he loses the ball often right in the centre of the park, and his marking against oppostion's AM has been very poor...Manny for DM PLEASE!

Has been talk of Ifill being fit....a hint of hope there and thought Smith was excellent in that DM role yesterday

Brisbane played 4-6-0 for 10 mins against CCM, when Broich was up front, and I think I noticed the Heart do it in the Melbourne Derby for a small period with Terra. If we want to try it though, who we use as our false nine? The only players I could think would be suitable are Sanchez or Smith.

In a slight aside.  I have, with much unease, passed over the sheik reins.  I can only hope the new sheik brings some good luck.

End of an era.  Vinnie - It's over.

If Ifill is not fit then Ward or Leo get the spot on the wing and Lindsay (or possibly Downey if fit) to take the other bench spot.

You may.

But whenever I over-analyse a bitter Phoenix loss - I'm like a Murray Deaker after an ABs or Team NZ defeat.  A world of melancholy.  It affects me very badly.  So we have to move on from Archies dancing, or "I'm too Kewell for [Wellington's] schools".

Smith to dominate the center of CC's diamond and help out Tsat.
Muscat to generally win everything and help out Griffiths.
Sanchez to keep calm on attack and get the ball to Ifill.
Ifill to score.
Imagine a midfield that doesn't give the ball away ala Brown/Ward.

At least he'll have Durante with him.. not like when we threw Musa to the wolves when he had North beside him (or was it in front of him generally complaining to the ref and not doing his f**king job)

Are you serious? He constantly had his man beat for pace on either wing. He got in a lt of space, but his crosses were all sh*te. (why he continues to take our set pieces is puzzling)Tegal2011-10-31 16:14:56

Literary humour completely lost in this forum Harry! Even though I regard Dan Brown as strictly populist fiction.

Must say I am very disappointed in the lack of Hearfield-Judas related chant suggestions so far. Could it be that the impact of Hearfield's departure is not as keenly felt amongst the YF as was Rojas? Surely not.

I do like the Friday night games though as I won't have our kid tagging along and I am generally a bit more pissed. Will also be heading off to see The Business straight after so will be in a bit of an Oi boy proper nawtie hooligan mood.

Is it just me or does it look like Warner thinks he is being booed when the fever yells 'shoooooooot'?

Starting line up:
----------------------Warner------------------------
--Muscat------Griff--------Durante--------Tsattalios

----------------------Smith-----------------------------
------------Ward---------------Sanchez---------------

-------Bertos------------------------Daniel--------------
--------------------Greenacre---------------------------

Subs:
-Paston
-Lindsay
-Ifill
-Brown

Was very impressed with Tsattalios. Definately alot more skill than Lochhead, thats for sure. Drop Brown and Lochhead.

http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/news-display/SigmUnd-faces-one-match-ban/42201

By the looks of this, it seems as though the one match ban is not automatically applied after gaining a red card, it gets awarded by a Match Review Panel after the game if the ref is deemed to have made the correct decision, otherwise no ban is awarded. If this is actually the case, then big ups to FFA! The accountability of the refs is exactly what is going to make the quality of the reffing in the league better and better.
