Considering how many were bagging him before the game on this forum, do you need to ask? :)

Really? You see 3-4 goals coming from our lot?

Big call.

Yes, yes I do. Newcastle are rubbish away from home, and we scored 4 on the xmas game against them last year

lucky if we win by one. Personally I'm more looking foward to the nixmas song. will be awesome no doubt.

Jets have had played some good games and had good wins. I won't be underestimating them even though the odds are against them.

Not sure what game you were wathcing, but the Jets were rubbish.Your comments about Kennedy being a bogin sums up why HN pulled the thread about who were the worst supporters in the league.People like you.

Leggy, you need to get laid old man. And no, i'm not offering.

What did we learn last night ?

Football is the beautiful game  - our first goal was absolutely a thing of beauty.

Daniel plays to his potential when he has like minded players around him, season 1 it was Filipe, last night Sanchez. Ball players feed off each other and can anticipate each others runs and passes, - Ifill's in the same mold.

Leo is a confidence play - he is still a long way short of his best but a few more games with Sanchez and Smith and his confidence will continue to grow.

We are a far far better team when we don't have Brown and Lia both playing DM - one is more than enough. Smith does everything they do defensively and is light years better going forward.

Playing only one of Brown or Lia as DM with Smith, Sanchez, Daniel / Ward / Leo we have an added dimension to our game. It's not just bomb it down the wings and across she comes but we also play on the ground, through the middle and look very good doing it.

We have the best no nonsense back line in the league.

If we had a real finisher up front we would have scored another 3 or 4 last night.

Of course we knew all of this before last night.

My Christmas wish; sign a bloody good Australasian striker in January which means we can then sign Smith to the 5th import spot.

Merry Christmas to one and all.
He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

This  x 100%

Will the great man ever drop either Brown or Lia( or Warner)?...me thinks not.
Fairly obvious to anyone who as been watching the Nix season what the best combinations are. Pick the right side....add Ifill and we are easy top 4....no worries!!!

I'm really glad that your not offering as I only fancy people with class and as you are a City supporter that would exclude you.

Just got home tonight. Saw the report on the sports news (about the 10th story in or something - good one TV One FFS. Not sure what happened on 3 due to TiVo recording failure).

The goals were awesome. I know the Jest Defence Force was a bit like New Zealand's but hey it will give the Nix some great confidence knowing that they can put it all together. Could watch those highlights over and over again. I can still feel the shudder of Pav's header for the 5th (somewhat dampened by Dewhurt's call of "the Yellow Fever want five" lol)ahmad2011-12-24 22:41:58

Probably because he has been getting slagged of by many of  the YF constantly and justifiably  over the past few weeks (me included) no better way to shut your critics up though than to score two cracking goals in front of the zone  ,good on the man !

How slow does Warner have to get before Paston gets a go? Great game to be at other than that. Made my Christmas.

Just noticed that from the (incorrect) free kick they scored from, the Newcastle player in the wall charged our whole wall sideways.

Saw that too and nothing was mentioned so I figured it was legal (and pretty cleverly worked)?

Was mentioned briefly, completely illegal, but hard to generate to much controversy from a consolation goal.  If it was a winner there might be a few more up in arms.

Kevin Muscat's rugby tackle on a wall in the final Melb derby of last season went fairly unnoticed as well, probably because he then went on to get himself sent off.

Why do refs never seem to pick up on this? Seen it happen but never seen it called up...

Not half he didnt.
Should never have been allowed.
Having said that, the wall disintegrated in rather embarrassing fashion, pushed or not.

That was the most exciting Nix game I've seen in a while; was perfect to bring a newcomer along to.

The newcomers I brought along lost their voices and were seen on TV dancing in the zone during a goal-scoring celebration.
