i noticed they change the ground announcer since the last game maybe the old guy was to sh**

Cause the original guy does the NZ cricket as well so they needed a replacement while he was away doing the tests and ODI's.

Agreed, I like Smeltz but he can't be that attached to the club. Although in saying that you could come out with.. since he's leaving he can just stop scoring too.

Ah, okay, we must have been watching different matches.

Gotta say I don't think he offered us much. He tried, but largely failed.

I would think that next week with McKain coming back, its 2 out of the Ferrante/Hearfield/Daniel mix with Ferrante being invisible for the last two game being Daniels saving grace.

Kovacic actually. Brutal and deliberate it was too. But that's how football used to be played in the 'good old days'.

There have to be at least two willing parties in order to have a negotiation.

If I was the CEO of a football club I would know that I'm running a business so, therefore, any contract offer has to be within certain constraints. If I make an offer which is at least comparable, if not more, with other clubs and that offer is still refused, then I have done everything in my power. I don't view that as doing a 'terrible' job.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

And what f**ks me off is all these people saying "the 'family' line is just an excuse, you don't know the real story". I tend to believe the story re Phoenix & Smeltz contract negotiations. He got offered what he wanted but wanted to go 'home'.

If you have something to share, some inside oil or stuff we are not hearing, share it, or f**k off. Saying you know better means dick pussy snot if you don't share. Hell I'm the smartest man in the world, but I can't say what all the answers are.... Put up or shut up

Well done Yellow Fever, we earned that last goal by raising hell when the ref turned down the other penalties!
Hearfield needs to go on an acting course in his spare time!

Oh, you're using me for rant practice now. Is that what it's come to

Totally agree with this statement. At the beginning of the season I think a lot of people were hoping we would aim for top four. Regardless if whether we hit the target or not we have aimed, and it is very pleasing we're clear of Bling, Newcastle and Perth. Even more important than making the top four is the respect we seem to have gained for that. The voices of anyone who say a NZ based side shouldn't be in the league have been silenced.

tbh I've heard more negative things from Australians about the club this season than last. Last year we played attractive football most of the time - even though our defence was a mess - and our crowds were much healthier. This season we play some of the most dour football in the league (next to the Jets and Sydney) and our crowds are close to the worst. (not in terms of noise made mind you!)

a 3 - 0 win is a 3 - 0 win. Whinge when we lose, you'll get plenty of chances.

I didn't see the game, but it sounds like we could've used McKain in the 1st half? why wasn't he playing?
I like tautologies because I like them.

I can't think of too much obvious negative Australian feedback other than that deservedly earned by some truly terrible performances early in the season. The Bin Hamid business got reactions ranging from full support for the Phoenix, through studied indifference to "let's ditch them and put Canberra in" (this from Craig Foster who last season was giving us rave reviews - showing what a show-pony he is).

Crowds are down across the board and I haven't heard a single crack at our expense on that account. I do agree with you though that of all the clubs this year we play the least attractive football, and apart from Bertos and Daniel, who barely gets a game anyway, we don't have players with the skills to set you on the edge of your seat with excitement. Maybe next season.

Yeah, at least he is still scoring and trying for us. Same with Moss. They could easily lose interest but they are trying to reward the fans for the great support they've got while at the club and if we do make the top 4 it will be largely thanks to them.

They are professionals contracted to do a job. 'Losing interest' isn't really in their interest.

And I'm saying it's not in their interest to do so (especially since they're not numpties like aforementioned Defoe).

O'Leary has been quality lately.  No co-incidence he is not reffing us, but I thought the Tards vs Clogs game at the weekend was excellent from him.

Stirs the blood that does. Question, I'm from Chch and want to travel up to Wellington for a few Phoenix games next season, can one get into the fever zone by purchasing a ticket at the gate?

Have a read of the FAQ.

Any ticket can be swapped for a Fever Zone ticket, so if they can't give you the right aisle you can go in and get it changed inside.
