Time to move onto Sydney B. Wooden spoon clash as well, but a 6 goal win could get us back into the top 6.

I think the boys might like getting away from Wgtn at the moment. Lots of negative press, journalists hanging around training trying to get a word on Nelsen and Morgan and his clip board etc.

I hope they go over there and hopefully forget about the previous week and go into the game with a positive attitude.

From a tactical perspective, would like Ricki to move back to 3 central midfielders or if he sticks with same lineup make sure Brockie and Stein drop into space to receive the ball and if we are to press Sydney Brockie/Stein to drop onto deepest bling midfielder.

Agreed, and hope they can work that out themselves during the game if needed

sydney has been playing a lot narrower with their diamond midfield lately, so we could potentially get overun if we have just lia and sanchez defending through the middle

My lineup: 451

                         Paston

Bertos     Sigmund     Durante    Hogg

 Boyd                 Smith               Fenton

            Sanchez           Stein

                        Brockie

For me with our backline disfunctional and our forward line struggling to finish chances that line-up is too attacking and provides no cover for the backline.

I'll be very suprised if anything changes from last week based on the cattle we have and the line-up playing Youngheart tonight.  Potential of Hogg on the bench rather than Lindsay would be all.

But that line up would win the league on FM2012... We'd score 15 goals and concede 14 a game...... *facepalm*

Changes are unlikely I know, but  think Boxall should be given a run for Siggy. Hopefully he has a good game tonight up in Palmy.

With only 3 outfield spots allowed on the bench you would be foolish to have a defender as one of them

If Hoggy gets a full 90 under his belt tonight and isn't absolute pants then I hope he'll get a start on Saturday. Lochhead's gotta go, his crossing and general football for that matter, has been poor.

Park the bus...1-4-6 and play hoof ball.  Seriously... I see little change from last week. It has gotta work soon.  Maybe Hogg for Lochy.  Maybe Boyd to bench..he wasnt flash last week.

Yup!  Park da Bus!

Back to basics.....love it. Play Muscat and Smith in DM. Hoof it. Rough them up. Keep it tight. Bang in those crosses

Manny might become world famous for the tackle that breaks Del piero leg!

What purpose would a defender offer from the bench? Hardly an impact player. At best you would bring them on and move someone from the back further up, but any manager would rather just bring on fresh legs for a more frontal position. Its easier to ask a full 90 of your defenders. This has been echoed many times by A-League coaches throughout the course of the competitions history, they all say the same thing. Look at all the benches any given A-League game and you'll notice a distinct lack of defensive players. If we had the benefit of maybe 4 or 5 spots on the bench, you could sneak a defender in to cover any injuries early in the game.

Leggy.  Have a warning. I've had to hide one post and that clearly breaches rules (I'd PM it but...).

He clearly isn't serious as we all know Manny is bansticked so is hardly likely to injure del Piero is he?

I'm struggling to find out why you came to this last line. Taking out the fact that Manny is suspended, are you thinking he will come straight back from his second lengthy suspension for stupidity and continue flattening players?

Manny can have moments of red fever but he is not a Burns or McFlynn (whom make their game on flattening anything that moves)

I know, I'm dreaming.

Would rather we just tried something radical, it cant be too much worse than what we have done lately, throw in Totori, Hogg and Lindsay, if its a spectacular fail then so be it, it's not like we have much to lose.

(Yes, I know it won't happen, just wish it would, other managers have the balls to try risky things..)

Maybe best point was the independent observer in the comments below the link above:

"Germany beat Australia, England and Argentina by 4 goals with Route 1 football. I don't think the German crowds or any supporters would mind how you play. There's nothing as entertaining or exciting as winning games "

It could quite clearly be worse. Huysegems was one of our best last weekend and Totori one of our worst.
