We need one more but I have no idea where its coming from. Muscat may have to play right back although Id prefer him to play defensive midfield. So Brown or Lia would have to be the 11th.

Unfortunately Dadi is unavailable and I have no idea who to replace him with either.

Subs : North, Hearfield, Toto

Sorry, this is a joke right ?

What is the deal with the hating on Whooo? I mean his posts are rubbish, but playing up to it generally seems to be lowering the quality of the discussions here!

I do find his histrionics very amusing.

I do like. I have dropped Toto as I would like North to get game time, possibly even coming on for Brown or Ward and pushing Manny along side Lia and North to RB, or straight swap for siggy.

Agree, that looks like what I would put out, but any of the front 3 could be in Pav's spot.

Pavlovic has just looked hungrier off the bench, Greenacre is a class finisher, but has looked lazy off the ball.

Drop lochhead - talk about burn out - he's been burnt out for 3 seasons. There's nothing worst to watch than an out of depth fullback that resorts to waist grabbing. I've said it before and I'll say it again while he remains "safe" in the 1st 11 - we need another left back urgently.

Start Musa? See if he can grow into his spot quickly?

Reid stepped up on the international stage...

Yep - Musa is adaptable and doesn't lose any quality. He performed well enough at leftback in pre-season. Worth the risk for improvement. The improvement would also flow into the rest of defense and midfield.

You're talking about promoting an 18 y/o who grew up playing holding midfield, was signed as a centre back, who is right footed, to go into left back ahead of an internationally experienced left footed left back who has a large array of experience behind him?

I'm not a fan of Lochy's, but damn is that a dumb suggestion.

International experience.... best rubgy tackler I've seen in an international!

Why did it work so well in preseason? Why even use it in preseason if the idea is dumb. And given it did work well in preseason - why not use the lesson in the real season - isn't that what pre-season testing and trialing is all about?

Dumb is playing someone that clearly has no form and hasn't for a long time and it's frustrating to see it ignored so.

Was wondering if Paston needs resting..no issues with his ability but he does seem a bit pedestrian at time flat footed...possible not quite over the injury yet?

He is looking for a club..

But if you mean for the nix, then yeah would be a very strange move to bring him back. We dont really need him anyway.

North wont be a chance. He plays in Poland on the evening of the 9th in Poland (10th over here) Would think it would be all but an impossibility to get from Warsaw to Wellington on time/

When you're trying to remain competitive in a league that is as tight as the a-league I think it is dumb.

IIRC in pre-season Lochy was recovering and Musa came in and covered a hole. However that was agains't limited opposition. I see where you're coming from, but unless he's injured there have to better options. I.e. I reckon if he was seriously considering it Manny would go to LB and Hearfield to RB. Not a great scenario, but probably the more likely than Musa getting a crack.

I rate the kid, but he aint a Leftback.

When does Lochhead's contract expire?  I hope Ricki's looking for a good replacement, if only to keep him on his toes but preferably to actually take over from him.

I must be the only one who is a fan of Lochy (most of the time). He was poor against Perth but when we play well it is usually him getting forward and putting balls into the box + linking up with either Leo or Daniel.

I wish we could clone Manny, though.

I certainly don't think he is as bad as a lot of people like to make out. I don't know if it is because I see what I want to see, but very few of our conceded goals seem to come from down our left hand side.

I think he's decent enough player. I have called at times for another left back, if only to give Lochhead some competition, as there have been times (particularly season 2 and early last season) where his form hasn't been as it could be, but there's been no-one else to turn to. I only watched my first game of the season v Perth, so can't really comment on this year.

However, when he does get forward, I think his crosses are often from poor positions, and ineffective.

I would have to agree, compared to last year he doesn't look as fit.

please, he's the hardest worker on the park. You can't notice it on the t.v but at the home games, you see him come back and do timmo's job. Even the commentators said on Sunday about him coming back frequently.

Agree with Whoooo. Runs his socks off every week. His work ethic cannot be questioned. Lets not forget that since Mac arrived the style of the go forward has changed and there's some adjusting to be done.

Greenacre was a waste of space yet again on Sunday. He probably does work hard. I think the emphasis on him "running lots" is almost insulting to the other players in the team, and not a reason to say he played well. Heck, I'd work very hard and run a lot if I was picked in the team, but I don't think I should be picked (because I suck). Big Mac has been a bit disappointing so far also. Sort of just looked like a tall Greenacre on Sunday.

With the comments regarding Ifill and Greenacres and sort of everyone's fitness. Don't you think it is the long offseason? Greenie and Ifill in particular are used to an English offseason but a longer offseason might have done some damage on them.

Think that Greenie was really disappointing with a few of his forward runs - he doesn't seem to want the ball enough a lot of time - but can't fault his tracking back.

Yea, good point. We've still got the goods to have a good season though. I have much less faith in Greenacre to improve and be useful though. I'll have some Pav on Saturday please.

Greenie was our best player in the first couple of games, though.

I think Dura is the only one who's been consistent thus far.
