I like talk of 4-3-3 formation. I guess we could see something like this then:
Vukovic
Hearfield,Durante,Sigmund,Lochhead
Ward,Muscat,Brown
Ifill,Greenacre,Daniel   ??

Though it says Muscat is likely to go back to right back. So who is the third man in midfield? Daniel? We'd get done on the counter with that as all three like to get forward. Daniel should hold his place out wide imo. Prefer Muscat in midfield, think he is quality there.

And then there is Toto. Who could well feature. Tsimon_hampton2010-09-10 15:52:33

hMMMM Is that not the basic formation we played or attempted to play agains Perth and Looked rubbsh? I suppose it might be worth another go but I am uncnvinced.

On another note, saw about ten players from Sydney around town today....maybe i am getting old but christ they looked like young boys

Just saying, we never played Sydney in our 23 match run at ROF.

well a 433 would be pav up top for me. unless ricki thinks this is a 433:

                           paston
muscat//sigmund//durante//lochhead
                    ward // brown
                           greenacre
ifill        //           pavlovich        //     daniel

hmmm..?
otherwise i wouldnt be surprised if we see bertos again.   I wouldnt actually seeing a midfield with:

                     ward // brown
                          Daniel
Pavlovich // Greenacre // Ifill

is there any game on tv tonight? At home nursing a x3 wisdom teeth extraction and looking like a chipmunk = need some live football.

also, it's going to be quite fun tomorrow, two massive games (University Cap 1 Play-off game, Nix vs Sydney) and I can barely talk let alone sing of scream!

It means there will be lots of green around the country but wgtn will have mostly white.

There will be a lot of backwards Fs as well.

I'd say our midfield would get dominated but I guess McFlynn isn't there - I guess Brown will play more defensive?

Can sense a ugly 1-0 result to either side...hopefully it is in our favour.

We need to find confidence before our matches in Melbourne.

Start of a busy 8 days..4 points minimum, 6 would be acceptable and >6 a bonus. Ifill to be used as a decoy to draw his 2 shadows out wide and Ward through the middle to Pav.........goooooooooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllll

Gi Nix.l

A small town in Europe........looking to bounce straight back up....well that aint going to happen

Paston out, Lia doubtful with a hamstring strain. North arrived late last night and Ricki is still thinking of starting him if he is keen, shows that he doesnt have a lot of faith in the defense at present and is expecting a lot from North IMO. Think he will stick with the usual attackers this week, Greenie and Big mac, and make changes next week if they dont get teh job done.

yeah if there has to be changes then maybe we shouldnt change too much at once.

So:
                           Vukovich
Muscat // Sigmund // Durante // Lochhead
                  Brown   // Ward
Ifill                                                     Daniel
            Greenacre // MacCallister

Bench: Gould/McMaster? // North // Bertos // Pavlovich

any word on how Muscat is following his international duty and travel

hopefully he is ok to start

not sure that I'd throw North on given his travel hassles

Can't wait to see Vukovic in action. And McMaster will be on the bench. He is still training with us.

GET FIRED UP!

No matter who gets on the pitch, lets get behind them more than ever. Cannot let Sydney continue their dominance over us. We want 3 points tonight.

Can't quite believe what I have just read about Ifill being under pressure to perform. While its good that he is his own worst critic it was only a couple of weeks ago he scored one of the goals of the season. I would hardly call it a slump. I guess being Nix star player comes with added pressure, but personally I would rather see the criticism flow down towards players like Lochead and Bertos.

I think its because, by his own standards, even in the game he scored that goal, on the whole he was very quiet.

We need to be able to better exploit the gaps that the opposition double teaming Ifill should create, and that will give him more space.

Has been average at best in the last 2 games...rubbish at worst.

Wasn't great the first 2 games, but 2 great goals so it's easier to forgive a poor performance when that happens!

His poor performances seem to mean hes still one of the better players in the team though. We just expect more from him.

Lets not forget that rainy night in Sydney where the cheating barstewards denied us a place in the Grand Final.

Will there be a commemorative ritual pie throwing competition?
Will C-Diddy be made to eat his scarf again(just for a laugh)?

Just hope that Ifill finds his form tonight, a shoves a sh**load past Liam.

We're the WELLINGTON Phoenix

Always the same when standards have been set though, expectations go up.

I fancy a BIG performance from him tonight! And I have a bet on him to score last at $7.00...
