Perplexing to see tonights performance yet North played two games for the Socceroos in Asia??

North has a 3 year offer on the table I believe.

And then there's rumours of Asia along with Sydney and Jets (unlikely with Topor re-signing).

Also heard some rumours re: Ward.

I'm actually beginning to seriously doubt Ricki's Judgement.

We leave rojas out of the team for 18 months. We never let Kosta play. We sign some absolute tosh.

FFS.

Rojas was injured.

Name any manager that hasn't had some horrendous misses with signings.

This is about re-signings though. I appreciate the problem, which is there doesn't appear to be enough quality talent in Australians to support 11 teams currently.

Frankly more New Zealanders in the team is risky- this is just what is annoying the Asian Federation.

Who cares if we offend Asia?  They care very little about us, we should be more concerned with doing what is good for NZ football than appeasing Asia.

Despite the propaganda you read out of Aus, Asia's care factor is very very low about the Phoenix

We are an anomaly playing in a different federations competition, like it or not, and there remains the real possibility that to continue the Phoenix might be forced to adopt the same player eligibility rules which would mean NZers are counted as foreigners.

I fully expect Bin Hammam to run for the FIFA top job this time around, and probably win- and he hates us.

When/If he gets the top job he'll have way bigger fish to fry than us.

Like Sepp his position moves on subjects every 24 hours and at times he's shown us love and retracted it.  Most of the noise about Asia's attitude to the Phoenix comes from Australia, not Asia.

I am very surprised Gagame Feni hasn't been playing for the Phoenix reserves. He is eligible for NZ now and has been the top goal scorer at Secondary school nationals the past two years and still has one more year left at Nayland College. Has scored for Canterbury United and is now a regular in their starting line up. Has an x-factor a lot of New Zealand strikers don't have. I am pretty sure he hasn't even trained with the Phoenix before yet so many other New Zealand youngsters have. He'd be getting my vote for the YF scholarship.

I would imagine that after 15 years of every Solomon islander being talked of in these tones that there is some cynicism about the next one being ready for the level of football.  There is a long line of players in the position hyped beyond belief who never prove to be better than National League level.

Incidentally, it seems he has the same X-Factor as Batrim Suri, Henry Fa'arodo, Commins Menapi, Benjamin Totori, Alick Maemae, Michael Fifii, Andrew Abba, Joachim Rande...

He also has a scary body double who follows him around, only out of focus, according to this Stuff Scoop.

2 goals for Canterbury this year. Some x-factor.

Three for me, and two for them.

I don't think personal feeling has anything to do with it. It is all politics, when it is in his political interest in the AFC to be against us he will be, if later he is FIFA president and it is in his interest to keep Oceania happy he will be our biggest fan.

3, one against Phoenix reserves. To be fair he had limited opportunity until he scored at Trafalgar Park. But his goal scoring record at secondary school level is far and beyond any other teenage striker in NZ (who is still playing in NZ). You mentioned a lot of players Hardnews, I just don't understand how they can dominate college stuff then just fade off in to national league stars or starters only.

Cooled down somewhat since last night and looked at a replay.
It is apparent how badly missed Muscat and Lia were at the pointed end of defence. With the lack of experience from Musa, lack of playing together and North rusty at calling the shots they were on a hiding to nothing. I expected more, but trying to be more charitable here.

I know this is going to be racist...but are we lacking in the Wog factor?

The only wog we've got is Pav who's a bit of an underage donkey, and i've also noticed most teams seem to have a few quality starting wog's.

Secondary school level means absoultely SFA in the grand scheme of things mate. Andrew Bevin has been knocking goals left right and centre in the NZFC this year, he's only 18 perhaps he's worth a shot.

It's hard to take anything you say seriously when you have this massive agenda to do with Nelson football. Feni is good but does not have an x-factor and is not beyond any other teenage striker in NZ.

Three for me, and two for them.

QUESTION:

Will Ward Re-sign?

His aspirations are not playing with us, but he really strengthens our squad and offers versatility that we need.

So where will he be next year?

We can assume North wont be here next year, and hope that Marco will be, but Ward interests me a lot, because if we dont get him, then we really need someone of similar quality.

The only upside I can see from this is that he will be out of the cap if he is still classed as aus marquee. Cause I dont know who else we could get on Aus marquee? Jon?

So what is a wog? I used to work for an English tour company in Europe and before my first trip the boss said to me "look out for the wogs mate", I somewhat naively said it will be a few weeks before
I got to Turkey and he said "the wogs start at bloody Calais mate".

So we need more Frenchmen in the team?

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Well, it's official then. If he's selling his telly, he must be leaving...
