Must admit I've been a bit underwhelmed by our signings this season - with the exceptions of North (if he ever gets here) and Vukovic. With North replacing McKain and Vukovic replacing Reedy I don't think we've gained much from either - but still very happy with the signings and replacing players of the calibre of McKain and Reedy was no easy task.
Also relaxed about Pav - he looks to have potential and you can / should take risks with youth players
I realise the season is a bit longer in 2010/11 (3 games) and we have some mid week games (2 or 3 (?)) but, that aside, I don't understand why we have gone with a bigger squad than last year - especially as we still don't have a decent youth team arrangement.
Personally I would have preferred a couple / three less players (out of Ward, Mac and Toto) with their salaries going towards a better player or two. I suppose it doesn't help that Diego has turned out to be a waste of space and a visa spot.
To be fair, Diego aside, I don't see any dead wood (hopefully new signings all work out) and we have a reasonably well balanced squad. Hoping the old adage will be borne out - a champion team will beat a team of champions and our squad will gel (like the second half of last year) and deliver.
