We're allowed to sign more than 3 youth players aren't we.. it's just the minimum is 3. Isn't that right?

Dont think we will get Killen back, he will stay there to chase the money. He isnt worth this much but it seems there is serious money around

"However, there are still huge riches in Chinese football, as was shown this week with news that Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka had signed for Shanghai Shenhua on a two-year deal worth 175,000 pounds a week.

His former team-mate at Chelsea, Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Michael Ballack, is also rumoured to be joining the club next season.

Didier Drogba, whose contract at Stamford Bridge runs out at the end of the season, has reportedly been offered a three-year deal worth more than 30 million pounds (200,000 a week) - to move to China."

Brockie, yes.

Killen? He's as much use as jalepeno chutney on hokey pokey icecream.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Not a transfer though, it's a re-signing.

Just saw Brockie and Rickie catching up over a pint at an undisclosed location. Brockie looked excited and signed a piece of paper.

I thought Brockie was trying to get his Australian residency so he could play as a local?

That was the bill. Ricki still hasn't sorted his wages out.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I still think Killen would be good value in the A-League. Would like to see a move to sign him tbh, we're supposed to be able to have the full cap for next season, so if we're supposed to be financially stable then why should we be avoiding 'big money' signings? Id like to see us not having to turn away players like Killen or Rigters because we're cash strapped. Thats no way to run a club with ambitions of winning the title. Especially when the same players end up at other clubs. Kind of embarrasing that Rigters went to GCU of all places...

Heres also hoping Brockie's contract doesn't get renewed with Jest due to reduced overseas player quota over next two seasons so that we can sign him.

Killen, Brockie and even dakota are all great players.. but do we need them?. I think we need wingers personally. Bertos and Daniel are getting old and fat (bit of an exaggeration i know) and arent doing much for the phoenix now days. Need some fresh young boys with some pace who can run laps up and down the flanks and whip balls in like marco was doing.

And then you also need goalscorers.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

Brockie I would sign in a heartbeat, and if the club does have an opportunity to sign him up now with all the uncertainty surrounding his contract situation, it'd be foolish to let it pass by.

Killen I'm less convinced about, not sure he'd be a great value for the money he'd likely want to come to play here.

Why does everyone keep harping on about Dakota? Because he is scoring goals in the NZFC? Draper done plenty of that as well. If you are going on that basis then I'd much rather have Allan Pearce or Slefendorfas?

Because he's playing well in the NZFC and without a youth side that's all we have to go on.

Looking at what Welnix have been saying since taking over Brockie would seem a no brainer if he's keen... with Killen, they've not said they're against spending big dollars - what they're against is the risk involved in throwing dollars at someone and then "hoping" that they turn out be more of an Ifill, and less of a Jardel.

Based on what they've said about wanting to have Kiwi's in the club where possible - and Killen's (and JB's) obvious familiarity with the team, town, Ricki, and many of the players... that risk is greatly mitigated. So, if Killen's $$$$ are comparable/close to other o/seas options with similar experience I'd guess they'd go with him as the likelihood of him settling and contributing would be much higher.

Greenie can move into the AM/attack coaching role and with Sanchez, Ifill, Pavlova and hopefully a young Kiwi striker (???) then we're looking ok up front.

If we got JB and/or CK then I'm a happy little Brissy based Nix fan! That really needs a new stripey

I think that despite needing a striker we need to somehow sort out the squad to accomodate smith...looks very good in that central midfield slot

I hope he lobs it back and Brockie misses it.  Interesting quotes from Jets coach about Brockie in DomPost....a 10% player.

A small town in Europe........looking to bounce straight back up....well that aint going to happen

Still not 100% on Smith taking up an import spot but we'll have it free with Warner (i assume) leaving next season and Greenie going into a coaching role (unless he plays on, he's still running round like a 20 yr old)

Surely there's an Alexander Smith in Welly with a Kiwi passport?... shouldn't too hard to sort out - pretty sure we all look the same to the AFC anyways!

Read that. Pretty harsh. Brockie is def guilty of disappearing for periods and could do with a major injection of mongrel, but 10 % or not he has contributed more than anyone else in the jets front half this year (perhaps aside from Griffiths).

He'd be a good signing but as a winger, not as a striker.

The big issue with Killen is his fitness, he has had big injury issues in his career and I dunno if we would be willing to risk an injury plagued player with our marquee slot.

Yeah, that would never happen :p

As with anyone it'd come down to the $$$ and the medical reports... look at Iffy's history before, and since joining us... still worth every penny. And who said anything about marquee?

Ifill has had just as many injury problems as Killen..
