Off at 89 mins (1-0) in a 2-0 win.

TSC unbeaten in 3 games, Singh starting. All good so far. A trip to Red Star next a proper Serbian litmus test.

TSC down 1-0 when Sarpreet came off. Full game Degenek.

Looks like TSC will be one of the better teams in the Serbian league, and hopefully push for a European spot.

Doesn’t seem to be having the impact over in Serbia. Early days but needs to do more with the likes of Thomas, Mccowatt, Just and Old performing better in his position
(s) and at better levels.

Struggling to get stuck into games is Singh in the couple games I’ve watched. It’s a very transitional league with lots of spaces in between the lines, so in theory this should be a league he can tear apart imo but also a very physical league at times too.

As long as he plays consistently and stays injury-free, that’s a win.

It’s all good and well to get on a pitch and play but you need performance.

If he can’t produce in Serbia what makes you think he could get it done at a World Cup?

Needs to start picking up G&A not just dillying around and getting minutes.

I think his Euro adventure is done. He really needs to be playing well in a decent (A) league now to put himself in serious AW starting contention.

No he should hang in there. Degenek also plays for TSC, and gets picked for the Socceroos. It's an okay league and at least now Singh's starting and getting decent mins.

Hopefully he does start to produce some goals and assists soon, as a small town in rural Serbia may even get more gloomy as winter approaches, without some on field success.

But his AWs spot for the WC is safe as long as he's fit. He's still a very unique talent by NZ standards. The coaching stuff and whole squad will very much want him around. They know what he can do when at his best. But yes the return of Thomas could push Singh into a bench role going forward, plus Just playing so well. Apparently Eli played pretty central (as a 10?) for Motherwell on the weekend

Football is a crazy game. In 2019 Singh was training with and getting the odd cameo with Bayern Munich, meanwhile Elijah Just was plodding in the 3rd tier of Danish football.

6 years on and it's hard to see Singh starting for us at the moment, and Elijah is probably our best creative attacking player right now

I understand you’re point but Degenek is a lot more experienced and has played at a higher level with Red Star in the UCL before that warrants his selection. Socceroos also have had Circati and Souttar injured in recent times so that’s what has got him picked aswell. He won’t start when Souttar, Burgess and Circati are available.

Singh has proper competition now in the All Whites. Thomas will start over him when the time is right. Just/Old/Garbett/McCowatt on the flanks and are also capable playing in the 10 is serious competition for him. He will always be the first sub off the bench if that’s the case and I’d never be disappointed to see him start either. But If he can’t start producing in Serbia. You do question if the next move is back home or India.

As someone said after this stint in Serbia, it might run dry in Europe for him.

Well hopefully Kalezic has a plan for Singh at TSC, and it's just gonna take a bit more time before yes it bears some fruit.

Definitely one of the reasons Just has started with a bang at Motherwell, is their coach Jens Berthel Askou. Askou rates Just, they were together at Horsens, before Askou left for Swedish club Goteborg. He then tried to get Eli to Sweden but Horsens scuppered those plans leaving Just very grumpy.

Is obviously a bit of a bromance between the two, and seems Askou is setting up unfashionable Motherwell to play exciting attacking football, which obviously showcases Just's talents.

As mentioned previously lets hope Darije can do something similar. The right club, the right manager so so important.

getting regular starts and decent game time is a step up from last season and the ones before. The Trend is upward for Singh. So get bedded into this team and be a regular starter. Once in we do want to see creativity and contribution starting to flow, need not be immediate but this season want to see Singh returning to something like what he can produce

Like several players after him, he should have stayed here one more season to ingrain his talent on a consistant basis. Marco too, to some extent. Waine being another. Be interesting to see how Alex goes in Poland. I wish all these guys the best of luck, But I do question the decisions to leave too soon, to really establish themselves.

Wait, what? Didn't Singh make a couple of appearances for Bayern after leaving the Nix?

It seems that his problem wasn't staying at the Nix for one more year, but not performing in loan spells to 2.Bundesliga.

It's all about opinions, but I always felt he wasn't ready to leave the nix.  But understood both the players' and clubs' position. Hard to turn that down. It would have actually made much more sense for him to be loaned back to the nix the following season, but unfortunately thems the breaks. And I agree with LG, thought the same with Waine. Paulsen at least stayed in the A-league.

Didn't start the game but came on at HT (TSC up 1-0).

TSC were heading towards a home win but unfortunately conceded a 2nd late in the 95th min.

he played a full season for the 2nd team that won the bdl 3 as well as first team appearances and training. His one loan spell went really well and had a transfer to werder Bremen lined up as a result but that fell through when he failed a medical

His first loan spell at Nuremburg was bad.
His 2nd loan at Jahn-Rensberg much better. Sadly the osteo pubis injury robbed him of that move to Bremen.

technically 2 loan spells at Jahn Regensberg, the 2nd one not as well as I think the team did poorly and they didn't register him in time so missed half a season

You chuck in Covid, and really there were a multitude of factors that derailed his career the first few years in Europe. Sense that he really struggled with the lockdowns in Germany's winter(s) away from family in NZ. Think there was family bereavement that he managed to return to NZ for amongst all that.

I think as well football has changed tactically a bit and that’s not helped a player that might enjoy a free role.

As well Paulsen, Bindon, Surman, Thomas, Bell and Stamenic are giving us a core which is capable of moving the ball quickly and making killer passes. Perhaps Nando too. And Rufer isn’t much of a step down. All good technical players.

I think that’s the challenge- he’s not really a forward or a conventional winger and he can’t expect a CM spot that I’d happily have given him ahead of Lewis or when Bell’s form was down where he can run the tempo of the game. Perhaps as a deep lying forward, but then he’s not a prolific goal scorer/contributor. As of yet.

Maybe after this season he’ll have settled in a position, put up some numbers and be able to challenge from there…

It’s a bit like Mesut Ozil. No one wants to say they wouldn’t start such a talented guy, but we no long need him to run the whole show the way we did against Ireland say, so we have to find a different role in the system.

I fully agree. He’s kind of stuck in between positions. He’s not you’re dynamic quick skilful winger but he can a
Job there… he’s not your typical box to box but he can do a half job there too.

The 10 role is nowadays is very hard to ace. Essentially now the opposing no6s are basically told to man mark them out of the game, which eliminates them from involvement in the games 75% of the time. You see typical 10s now like Palmer, Odegaard, Bruno etc etc have to drop way out of position wide or into the 6 role to get a touch of the ball.

So I do feel for him. Especially him not really being able to play elsewhere on the pitch makes it tougher too. Hopefully he can re capture that form we saw at Jahn Regenburg in 2021.

Those two performances against Aussie were rather vintage and make my worries look a bit daft!

Hope he keeps improving and someone turns his passes into assists. But it is fair to say McCowatt and Garbett are better midrange shooters of late. And Boxall was our best creative passer in that first game m, geez, but no one was slipping their marker and scaring the defense the way Sarpreet did.

Singh an unused sub as TSC lose 1-0
Degenek also an unused sub

From afar sense Kalezic likes a bit of squad rotation esp around the FIFA window international games. Who knows
