throw beer at the rugby and you get a slap - and people will bitch about it on the net.
throw beer at the cricket and you get a slap - and people will bitch about it on the net.
throw beer at a Nix game and you SHOULD get a slap - and people SHOULD bitch about it on the net.

Maybe the reaction here is overkill - but the message is the right one; "Don't be an idiot and everyone will enjoy the game more than if you were being an idiot"

If we (the supporters) want to get the message across that irresponsible, disrespectful behaviour is not cool, then this sort of discussion is a good way to go about it.

You can still sing, dance, drink and generally be a clown and have fun without pissing a lot of people off

...and I dont condone violence (in this instance). By 'slap' I didnt mean an act of violence, I mean 'dealt with'.

True story tho those at the back of 24 are usually there but there were joined by TMNT and some drunk idiot who was trying to get families standing. When Aloisi's goal went in, my back got it's first beer shower of the season. Not much fun at all apart from the goal haha

Sorry to any fans up the back of aisle 23 that copped my friends Tui he threw after UFuks penalty.
He was escorted out but escaped trespassing by legging it. He is no longer welcome to attend with our group of supporters.
Instead of laughing off and feeling a bit embarrassed about your friends throwing things (and the like) at games let them know YOU dont want to be associated with those sorts of shenanigans and wont be attending with them again. Its a lot more effective than a complete stranger attempting to tell them off.

Good call Arsenix

I think in all fairness, everyone is there to support the Nix. What I don't get is that if one person does something wrong (throwing bottles for example), all the group he (or she) is with thinks it is all good.  These people are responsible for the group they are associated with.  If you threw a bottle in the FZ, I'd expect everyone to get on board and get such a person removed as it brings bad press to what is a fantastic atmosphere.

After the game on Saturday, the boys 2nd from top in Aisle 24 started bashing the seats and swearing and carrying on like D**Ks.  They were told that there is no need and ended up causing confrontation. OK I was disappointed at the result, but didn't go right off my collective face about it.

They played really well and no type abusing, damage or confrontation is going to change that.

We live to fight another day (Melbourne - saturday)

Think we've all got to remember that Wellington is now THE football centre of NZ now and we're going to be under the microscope all the time. I think there are a lot of people, not just across the Tasman, just waiting for us to f**k up so they can stick the boot in. Let's not give them any excuse.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Ive had a fair  few run in's with killjoys who dont realise the yf zone is not the sort of place you can expect to be and stay seated without rowdyness surrounding you. its crap that people come in to the YF zone and think they'll watch the game without any anyone around them getting excited. the whole POINT of being a YF supporter is to show not that you like the game but you LOVE the game.

To those who get tickets in the yf zone then proceed to be complete sad sacks when those around them stand up and chant - come ON! there are a few THOUSAND other seats you can sit and watch the game in peace - so go sit in them instead of having a WHINGE everytime us excited fans get a bit rowdy.

The YF zone was emptyier than usual because a lot of people weren't being allowed to sit in other seats by the YF zone stewards (even though there are MANY free) meaning they would miss out on being with their mates at the game - hence the 'breakaway YF' fans - sitting somewhere where they could sit all together.  there are enough seats to accomodate us all at least 2 x over - so get over it if you aren't in your exact seat from time to time PLEASE.

As for the racist comments - i've been around the 'hooligans' every game and am yet to hear one racist comment - they're there to support the Nix not chant racial slurrs. i think thats an exaduration that one persons dreamed up and run with after a few wrapped scarves around their heads - not as a racist action but just as a general show of support.

as for the bottle throwing - I agree its stupid (and a waste of beer!!!) but you get that at every game you go to - yes it sucks - but if youre THAT worried, go sit on the other side of the stadium!! I'm sure i've been to MANY a rugby game that i've ended up getting beer on me - at least at the football you have the opportunity to seat yourself far away from the likelihood of MAYBE getting a bita beer on ya!

At the end of they day, it is up to you to tell someone to pull their head in, but mostly, the stewards should be looking out for (and doing more about) bad behaviour rather than worrying about checking tickets...they can also move people along if i gets too crowded in areas...in my opinion they arent exactly doing anything at the moment.

Though i do think it is a very small minority misbehaving, so 99% is good.

Thank you

I hope everyone can accept the fact that there will be some times when people will get so envolved in the game that they WILL do stupid things and over react just because they ARE so in to it - this is not to say that they SHOULD be doing it - but sometimes ya just gotta let things go (minor things i.e. bottles going up in the air and stuff - not brawling or anything - there IS a line -some are just drawing it a bit too early)

It just takes a bit from both sides - a bit of consideration, and a bit of tolerance.

At the end of the day - we're all there for the same reason - to support the Phoenix.

Okay, I'll bite.

Why do you 'hate' yellow fever ?

What has Yellow Fever done to you ?

I have tried very hard to be reasonable with you but you make it VERY hard.
