They have been dire but the job is still not complete. Do these fucktards think we are deaf? Shouting a conversation to the person not two feet away from me because we could not hear each other is not my idea of a good dj. Once again the stadium show what an unprofessional bunch they are. They couldn't organise a root in a brothel. And yet again the pre match and lame half time entertainment was put on soley for the supporters in aisles 24 to 30. Apparently aisles 9 to 20 don't exist. Just like in the competitions they run. Although on a good positive, that prematch idiot witht the camera crew don't come over to our side othe ground. I thank God for small mercies.
Announcers and entertainment are sorted by the club.
I didn't know that - I thought it was the ground (Westpac Stadium) admin responsibility.
If it is true then I am getting a bit angry since the club offers us a product we should like to buy (i.e. 'buy' by at least attending a game up to a faithful commitment of getting a season's pass). We are dealing with an unpredictable beast (sport) in terms of 100% satisfaction because can't 'buy' a winning result at home every game (OK, maybe we could, but let's not go there...) but surely we could at least buy a better home ground package, from announcers to entertainers?
This is of course part of my overall ongoing grumble about the apparent lack of media-savvy PR person in the club, one that would ensure we get better media coverage in this country, not just in the NZ Herald or the Radio Sport. The mainstream FTA TV channels (1, 3) should have at least a mention in the evening 6pm sports bulletin where the 'Nix is playing coming weekend, who they are playing, maybe a 15 sec interview with the coach, etc? In other words as much as they give to the "newsworthy" item that a rugby league player is likely to move from Canberra to Cronulla? A news item in the rugby league off-season? It is nothing else than lack of a proper PR, which is puzzling in the light of Gareth Morgan's ability to put himself about in the public eye.
It is cause people still view football as a second rate sport in this country. even when we win they feel that rugby is better. the only time football is first is when there is nothing else on, or it is juicy (sackings). kiwis need to get over themselves when it comes to rugby (going to get flak for this).
that being said, the company and the stadium need to get there act together (new stadium ceo and all that). focus on all the fans, and give us what we want. someone who can do their job, something entertaining at half time (I do not like those dam nixie chicks), then stadium goers might come back even if we lose.
for half time get some junior games going, or heaven forbid some of the fever playing. (Nighthawks vs invitation team)
