What would you do??????

A few of us were sitting around post Fury match and the subject came up. What would you do if you were Marcos Rojas???

The following is a brief summary of the stay or go opinions.

Stay.
Coz you owe the club. Coz Rickie is the National Coach. Coz you will learn more from seasoned pros like Ifill and Greenie. Coz you are a local hero(post Fury Rojas had a queue 50 metres long post match for autographs. Coz you are too young and underdeveloped football wise.Coz your family are here. Coz the Yellowfever would kill you if you signed with another A-League club.

Go.
Most probably to the Roar who seemed very interested. Going to a top, winning side playing attractive football under a great coach. Chance to play ACL. More money????

Personally if you took the emotional side out regarding the Nix ties and thought of it only in football terms I would go to the Roar. It would be a bit like chosing between playing for midtable Blackburn or taking an offer from Manchester United. Look how Kosta has gone making the switch. He has made A-League Allstars team after switching to the Roar. Marcos has more natural talent than Kosta IMO.

Actually I would stay at the Nix because I love the club and hate disloyalty.

Other things to consider are also infrastructure and training facilities, as well as the youth team.

If this is literally true, then it's a bit of a no-brainer.

If something is going well for you, you should only move if something that you are sure is quite a bit better comes along. I don't know the details of what the different offers would be but I struggle to see why Brisbane is so much more attractive.

Style of football and (on the evidence of this season) more chance of winning some silverware, for starters

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Potentially less game time.

Broich - Solorzano - Kosta aren't going to be magically dropped for him.  Same with the Archie - Allsopp - Kruse line-up.

Then on the balance side do Leo and Ifill walk straight back in at his expense here?

Lots to consider.

He probably has bigger sights than moving to a team that has a better chance of winning the A league though.

It'd be all about whats best for his development

Allegedly

I think that's a big consideration, whether he stays or goes. Depends which coach sells it best, I suppose.

Jag,  I don't like out chances there then.

Cosimo, agreed, but Ricki is pretty loyal to Leo.

If Marco stays and Ifill gets back to his old self again, I'd think Leo's days were numbered.

News, we can only hope that Ange gets laryngitis. Not worried about Ernie. He's got nothing.

Personally Id stay. Why?

*Who says the Roar are going to be top dogs next year? Tards FC could do a Sydney and not even make next seasons finals...
*The promise of a youth team would mean f**k all to me. If i were Marco I would be wanting first team football every week.
*At least moving to Europe you would be playing at a higher level, moving to another A-League side youre still just playing the same teams you would if you stayed at the Phoenix.
*Kosta wasnt getting what he wanted at Phoenix, cant blame him for moving. But Marcos doing way better here than Kosta ever did.

The only reason I see Marco possibly moving would be for a substantially larger pay cheque.

It is a pretty big decision to make anyway, let alone someone of his age.
I think there have been some good arguements both for and against.
For me, I hope that whatever he decides turns out to be the best for him.

Maybe we should get a marcorojaspleasestaywiththenix.com website, all pretty, where we can post our anguished pleas and perhaps melt the hearts of both Rodi Rojas and whoever's doing the negotiating on the Nix's side.

I am almost old enough to be Marco's mum. That would be wrong on every level. Also he has a hot gf who might take exception.

I'll give him a cupcake and a head-rub, how's that.

                             Ward Browny Lia Muscat
                                          Siggie Dura
                                           Pasty

That lineup looks like a blast from the 1860s, before passing had been invented and teams usually played 8 or more forwards.
