Aaaaaand the deluge starts!
Makes me nervous. Heavy rain and a wet pitch is always a leveller. Plus the chance of injuries increases.
Yes I worry about Bally's foot, if anybody slides into it in this weather.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Expecting to ship one on the counter here.  Has banana skin written all over it right now.

The Ref has a perfect pornstar "Tash".
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Possession in the midfield is all well and good but how are we gonna break into the penalty area?

Need a major lift in intensity. To not even be putting any pressure on a side this inexperienced is pretty poor. We're literally jogging at them. Zero rhythm, and for all the possession, it doesn't count for bugger all. Perth will be very happy having shipped 6 to the Jets a few days ago...

Woeful in the final half!

What an utterly sharke game of football this is, blandly holding the ball against useless opposition who are holding for a draw, not creating any chances because our sole goalscoring option (pacey striker) is counteracted by perth sitting super deep, no fans in the stadium, georgievski commentating (obviously).

This has perth winning off a 90th minute corner written all over it

I’d probs bring on Waine soon for Sotirio not much point having him on if he can’t get in behind

Can't quite understand why the ball isn't being played at pace out there for McGarry to run on to. Multiple chances for him to get in behind the defence.

I know it's 0-0, so it's not all doom and gloom. But that was 45 minutes of absolute sharke.

Very boring and woeful game to watch. I reckon Glory will get a point out of this game easy if Nix don't change things up.

This is such a boring game.  Side to side passing is not going to score us goals

Never good enough to play for England

Continually passing back to the halfway line when "On attack" is not going to win you games.

Bring on Waine and Old for Surman and Wooten. Might as well take Sail off as well!

every first touch is conservative. body position is always facing backwards towards the easiest pass. no one ever takes a progressive first touch.
any forward pass is quickly met with a return to a deep position.

i don't get this obsession that some people have with having slow moving possession for the sake of possession. it annoys me how this narrative often turns in to the falacy that modern day footballers have superior techniques to those back in the day. the truth is that these lads have so much time on the ball, executing technique is easy. as soon as things get tight or fast, they bail out with another mind numbing recycle.

One positive is we haven't exactly burned a lot of petrol so far. This is our sixth game in 18 days so it's not surprising we look a bit lethargic. Hopefully 2nd half we can rev things up.

Thank God for that

My thoughts so far:
- yes, it has been a frustrating watch
- we play best on the counter, but not tonight as Perth parked the bus
- it is wet and slippery
- I would not want to risk Ball much longer in this weather, let his toe rest before the flight home for the games in NZ.

goal!
first touches positive
a couple of crosses
forward runs
vertical passes
and hey presto we force a broken sequence and capitalise. rocket science.

Glory throwing everything at us.  Won't feel too comfortable untill we have another goal as it only takes 1 tinny goal to tie it up

Lucky that Elliot was actually OK - I am sorry for Clisby but Elliot could have easily been the injured one out there.

That was a close one for Dave Ball, unfortunately McGarry's pass to him was overshot.

I watched the first 2 episodes. 1st one was a bit frustrating but the second is much better.

Perth kids actually have a solid formation in defence and Reddy is not a muppet. This is what keeps them in the game. If they had anyone worth their money in the attack it would have been different night.
