Looks like we are just holding out for the 1 goal.
We should all play a drinking game every time the commentator says 'definitely' or 'of course'
We'd all be fudgeed after the first 5 minutes...

Looks like our midfield just disappeared here. Could be because of the changes. Pennington looks like he is on his own in the middle there.

That Glory chance all came from Pennington trying to play a low percentage killer ball up the middle. Not the time.

Aaaaaaargh. Get forward on the counter and then stop and turn backward. Should be a bloody crime...
Wing back instructions. Get to the opposition goal area and then play it back to our goal keeper. It's frigging frustrating.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Another poor pass down the middle from Pennington.... ends up with Timmins missing a good chance.

What is the point of bringing Bidois on now?
Never good enough to play for England

Glad that is over.
Glad that's another win chalked up w/o much taken out of the legs.

Not our best game but with the pitch quality, them parking the bus and playing so many games in a short time can’t rly expect top quality performance every time

Good to see Bidois get onto the field this time around. 😂
That aside, crap performance. Expecting a much, much, much improved performance in our homecoming. Producing something like that against CCM will not cut it.
Take the 3 points and move on.

Ugly as buggery and very frustrating but you have to say well done Nix. There are some very tired bodies out there tonight but they did what they had to and got the three points. A nice little bonus too in that there were no send offs or injuries.
Now for an actual home game!!

Our season so far: 5th on the table,
11th on goal difference and knocked City out of the cup.
Such a strange one. Anything could happens and fairly much has.

Playing like this against any other ALM side and we get thrash again.

A heavy pitch, a 1 - 0 win a good result. Hope the boys can reenergise for Sunday. I think people like Sandoval will thrive with a decent crowd behind them.
Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

Just be thankful the Nix ain't Perth. Both with long stretches away from home, both with high injury counts at different stages. But they are having an awful season rock bottom, and Nix are right in the playoff hunt, about to play in front of 2 hopefully big home crowds at last.
Suspect it's a strong reflection on Nix coaching setup and sound Welnix owners. So yeah be happy. Could be a lot lot worse.

Well done guys. The sign of a good team is the ability to win even when it's ugly. Nix deserve the biggest crowd ever this weekend given the adversity they have had to overcome this season.

It could be a lot worse, but I don’t feel sorry for Perth. They’ve played more home games than we have over the last 2.5 seasons. Their injury situation is horrific, but Nix have done it tougher by a long stretch. But I think you’re focusing on position in the table which is fair. We all thought we’d be down there this season. Game was horrific last night and I almost passed out to georgevskis drone.
Currently in iso due to my wife, so touch and go whether I’ll make it on Sunday 😕 glad to see the pax numbers into the 5 figures!

That was a fugly but hugely important win for us.
We come home to Aotearoa with two wins on the trot and a swag of momentum as we head towards the finish line.
We really missed Sutton tonight. He's one of the few Nix players that seems to feel comfortable driving the ball forward towards goal and taking on his opponent.
Will he be finished his COVID-19 protocol prior to the game on Sunday?

as much as that was a hard watch, we got what we needed - the win and noone was injured any further.
Some on here clearly have no idea how to manage an already depleted squad. Perth's kids were sent out with a very defensive mindset, which makes sense given the goals they'd shipped the game before. We set up on the counter, which when facing a defensive team looks horrid.
On that pitch you'd want your team to take care, it was wet and cutting up badly. We cant afford to have injuries on top of covid losses. Having a low energy game works for us as a club given the schedule and travel that we now face.
Trying to rectify our goal difference is not important right now, winning is.
We have 5 games to go, from those I'd expect 3 wins and maybe a draw, 10-12 points would give us 45 and safely in the top 6, probably top 4.
