Still early in Chief's career. The proof will be when we're still happy to have him coaching by the end of next season.

Ufuk is still a good coach and I'm still fairly happy with his tenure here.

Hoping for a win this game! Despite sydney starting the season poorly they do have some seriously classy players! If we defend their wingers well we'll go a long way to winning! Lets gooo lads 🔥

Kosta will be closely watched. That's all good. Bally to sneak through the screen and score.

Watching live at the ground on Saturday as opposed to TV since the last game in Wellington, it is really noticeable how much work Bally does off the ball in running that creates space for others to get into.  He may not get the goals other strikers get, but he contributes greatly to team performances that maybe he does not get enough credit for.  As good as Greenie was in that regard IMHO.

Arrghh. He's a good ref. But he just seems to always dislike us for some reason. Like he hates the colour yellow or something.

Has he only reffed the Nix in Australia? Because he's an Irani is problematic getting a visa for NZ?? Or did I dream that.

I think also he tends to get City, Sydney, Victory etc more? And they’ve beaten us more, particularly in Melbourne?

So might be the away games against formerly top of the table as much as the ref? And refs often somewhat favour the dominant team, even the good ones?

The only yellow thing he loves is his card. I don't remember a game where he wasn't so liberal with it.

Only in the last 30 mins. First 60 mins he let's players murder each other and once they are sufficiently aggravated, he starts tossing them out like candy.

Nix are fortunate. Coolish day in Sydney with max 26 degrees. Might be some rain about. Next 2 games in Adelaide & Perth, Nix may not get so lucky re the weather.

Much of northern Aussie is in heatwave conditions, incl Sunshine Coast, QLD where I'm sitting. Birdsville, in western QLD is forecast to reach 47 degrees today. God knows why anyone would live there.

That Perth fixture is at the CommBank as part of the Unite round. 😉

Just had the brother over from Sydney for Christmas and he said it's not the straight out heat that's a killer this year, but rather the humidity which he reckons is as bad as it's been in the 13 years he's been over there. Probably explains the weather they've been having of late - Lots of energy in the atmosphere.

Anyway, biggest part of tonights game plan has to be shutting down Joe Lolley - Keep him off that left foot of his, and minimise his impact on the game and we'll go a long way towards getting a positive result out of this one. 🤞

Marked difference in tactics tonight: WSW didn't bother pressing at all, Sydney are pressing like mad. Paulsen very nearly caught there.
