Just  a question for some you i know Walker has shown something and i like what he could become, but how come he dosnt get the grief from some of you Piper does. Because his touch and distribution are just as hit and miss as Pipers. Just wondering.

Expectations of a 22 footballer over an 18 year old academy grad.
Then you've actually got the on field evidence. Besides the last two games Piper had been average (and for mine that's being nice). Walker has had limited minutes to demonstrate anything.
I've changed my tune a little on Piper since being used in the last two games as a right winger.

Remember when we used to debate getting players out of the National League when coaches wouldn't do it?

As I see it Piper is a late development project.  He's not supposed to be starting. If he tidies up his game, like Siggie did, he has the potential to be a legend like Rufer and Siggie. *potential*
Home grown, non academy. Just not there yet and forced into starting, everywhere.

Yeah i just find it interesting how critical some on here are  of certain players and they seem prepared to just write them off.
Rufer, Siggy and Krishna all copped plenty of  shark on the forums with calls by some to discard them.
Fortunately those opinions have no influence on what happens because the club would certainly have missed those 3.

In fairness, I did criticize both Walker and Supyk as being headless chickens against Sydney. But yeah, they're younger and probably get a bit more leeway. None of them should be playing regularly at the moment but it's where we are at right now. Hopefully it's a swim rather than a sink situation for them. All have shown glimpses of potential.

I thought Walker was poor last game, but in most of the other games i've seen him hes carried the ball pretty well but just lacking end product.

To my untrained eye Walker appears to have the potential to develop into a Liam Gillon type player with similar attributes. As he is quite young he will benefit from exposure to players like Kosta and avoid bedding in Gillon's bad habits of losing the plot with the last pass in the final third.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Bloody hope he proves to better than him his end product is shark. All good being fast and able to beat people but if then dont do anything with it whats the use.

Several players have made careers in the Aleague based on that very thing.

He was also seemingly sick last match, so might not be the best performance to judge him by.

Yes both Walker and Sutton apparently battling a virus pre the Sydney game apparently.

Hopefully they recover and get their energy levels back up pre Macarthur. It's fudgeing hot here in Australia at the moment. No chance of playing a game of professional football unless you are 100% well.
