Looks like there will be a good turnout tomorrow. 10-12k would be very warmly received to be honest.

Northern grandstand pretty much sold-out, bar the small section near the western end of the ground. And there are a good chunk of tickets sold in the Southern stand, even though half of the bays remain unavailable.

12k + in attendance and 3 points in the bag would be a decent day all round for the club!

Yea, I noticed probably 1000 + tickets snapped up in the southstand over the last 24 - 48 hours, filling up most available bays. I'm a bit annoyed they haven't opened more bays up towards the half way line where most people would want to sit.

Hopefully if the weather is fine we're on track for 12k, maybe even a bit above that.

They're slowly opening up tickets on the Southern and Eastern stands now. 😁

I find it kind of funny that our last game in Christchurch was actually against the Mariners back in 2015/16, at least as far as I'm aware.

We're picking up from where we last left off at Apollo Projects, but this time we're out for revenge for that 3-1 loss.

Wonder if Nix will take 2 games to ChCh next season?

One in the summer at the Apollo Projects scaffolding, and then one in the autumn at the sparkly new Te Kaha covered stadium, due for completion April next year??

FYI - 2024/25 regular season is finishing 1st weekend of May.

Don't think they can take that risk. Even if they finish in April, there'll be commissioning and testing that will need to be carried out before it can run. That'll likely take at least a month. It would be pretty epic though.

That was a disappointing loss, but a good highlight were drinks we had with the travelling CCM supporters  - they were a nice bunch.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

There will be big pressure on the project managers to have stadium ready as early as possible for the Crusaders Super Rugby season 2026, which will start likely late February. They may even have the Crusaders play no home games through March, early April. I remember a few years ago in the MLS, the Portland Timbers doing similar waiting for their newly refurbished ground to reopen, about 2 mths into their season.

But yeah I reckon the Te Kaha stadium with luck will be ready enough to squeeze in a Nix 'home' game before the 2025/26 season ends. Could easily be a 20,000 plus crowd if so. Being one of the first sporting events & first football game, in what looks like being a pretty awesome structure.

Cantabs have spent the last 14 years stepping around temporary scaffolding & glorified portaloos in Addington. A little bit of sawdust & concrete brushed into a corner won't faze them.

He's positive but unfortunately he isn't very good at football. I'd have Sheridan at RB ahead of Piper any day of the week.

I will say one thing for Sheridan.
Hes very good at passing it back every single time he gets the ball.

LKH out injured apparently which explains why Dan Makowem has been included.

Didn't LKH only just recently return from a quite long injury break

Cautiously optimistic with this one. These last 2 games have given me some hope and we did beat them pretty decisively early this season. On the other hand tho our run of form since the Auckland game has taught me not to get too excited.

Back 3/5, or a back 4 being a home game?

If it's a back 4, Sheridan to start at RB, and Piper further foward?

Presumably regardless Conchie starts, and Supyk goes onto the pine.

Four South Island guys in the squad? Sheridan, Supyk, Smith and Loke.

Mostly cloudy. Occasional rain from late morning. Northeasterlies, easing in the afternoon.

Not the best forecast but not the worst.

Cloudy and wind free.  No rain of any kind thus far.
Perfect weather for football, and for A league football watching from the stands.
It's been a long time.

Well, here in Chch, the rain's holding off so far.
Lots of low grey rain clouds though suggests rain will be coming by game time.....

I am more excited about this game now than I was a week ago.
Always a better experience with a big crowd.
I was fearing a very small crowd based on the Nix's poor form.
It's really heartening to see the interest in pro football in Chch.
Great to see four South Island lads in the squad.
Hope that they get on the field and have a good game.

Yep, pretty cloudy here in Christchurch, but as still as can be.

Got my ticket and heading to my first Phoenix game in Christchurch since moving from Wellington nearly 2 years ago.

Come on Phoenix, let’s keep the season revival going!

Weather is overcast but mild and no wind. Was worried it'd be bucketing down but doesn't look like it will. So, perfect weather to watch a game!

Hopefully loads of Nix goals! COYN

I've seen Sheridan dribble out of defence, beat players, and make long precise defence-splitting passes. One game (Australia Cup?) he looked the Nix's most creative player. Patchy but very promising player.

At a wedding I don't want to be at today (no it's not mine 🤣) so I'm gearing myself up to watch a replay later on.

Pretty disappointed by that, I think he deserved the start.

Put the team in some semblance of an order on how they will line up you muppets.

Roa Conchie only just returning from injury isn't he, perhaps not ready to start yet? Him staying on the bench also means we at least have a midfield option on there.

I can't believe we're wearing black and CCM are in yellow. We're the home team for goodness sake

If we are to play in black, you would presume it could be scheduled to not be against the other team in the league who play in yellow? How does that get approved?

And the crowd are all wearing yellow! Honestly, it's as dumb as you can get,I despair sometimes.

You just gotta shake your head sometimes and go WTF. The Phoenix just dont friggen get it sometines. They tske a home game to CHCH plenty of the Cantabs buy the home shirt so the Phoenix wear black and let CCM wear yellow

I've turned off already, going to the pub.

Too many intrusive and flashing adverts - do they actually want us watch the game.?

Hope you enjoy it.

I hope next year we can have the same front of shirt sponsor for both the home and away shirts so we can guarantee all home games are played in the home kit
