I would love to see chief sacked if he loses this game, 6 defeats against AFC and the season over is going to be crushing without the silver lining of giving someone else a punt with the squad for the last few rounds.
It's disappointing we are not competitive in the derby because I suspect us getting battered is one of the reasons the crowds have fallen off a cliff. We are no longer viewed as battlers representing new Zealand and having to overcome large distances of travel which makes success almost impossible, we are just the rubbish losing NZ team now.
Busy sporting weekend, Hurricanes got 14k I think last night. Cricket is on at the basin today and tomorrow with the domestic one day finals. Be nice to get a decent crowd for the last game at Sky Stadium before it's renamed. Have to make the noise of 35k to drown out tHe pOrT.
oops! Bench LBS then. The two man battering ram up front would be interesting.andrewvoerman

I'd like to see this Oluwayemi Tuiloma Hughes James Loke Nagasawa Rufer Armiento Kartum LBS Eze Piper Hughes at CCB, to counter Randell's pace, (assuming it's May and Randell up top).Plus he's been the most secure on the ball lately. On the right, Loke, Nagasawa, Kartum, LBS and Eze have enough skill and creativity to string a move together. Raw power on the left with Armiento, Piper (and Eze). Might even see this second half. It seems like Najjarine and Sheridan will start.
Saw this yesterday and laughed - Hamming it up to the max! The guy has been a benchwarmer last year, and if Sail hadn't buggered himself the other week he would have found himself warming the bench for the rest of the season. Talking like he's got the stature of Gianluigi Buffon, but in reality he has the playing resume of a Gianluigi Buffoon...
I never watched that claptrap docu-series on Auckland either (🤮) but from what others on here have said on here he comes across as a complete 🔔 🔚 I guess that quick video all but confirms that...
Hope he absolutely cops it today. The disrespect will not be forgotten.
He's just playing the heel, I think it is kinda funny and fairly tame.
If I was an AFC fan I might say some of the same things and it is refreshing that he isn't massively self-censoring and worried about PR. He is right, the stadium is far too big for us, even more so after how we have played over the last two seasons has discouraged people from coming, and it is round and fans are far from the pitch, especially given the Fever's predilection for sitting nowhere near the front. And yes, they in 18 months have done more than our mens AND womens teams who have played over 20 seasons cumulatively.
Everyone knows he doesnt really think he wouldnt want a single player from the Nix at AFC, it is just what rivals (who arent trying to come across as really nice) say.
Not only are they a far better football team than us but theyre miles better at engagement and marketing too.
Always risky being a goalie and saying that kind of stuff because your the most likely to make a game losing mistake. Hopefully a Woud special clanger is in bound tonight.
To put the Pax into perspective, 3 hours before the game against Victory I bought tickets and the Pax was 11594, total attendance 5700 or there abouts. Just got tickets for today's game, 5 hours before kick off and Pax is 13805.
The Auckland video on FB is well done, purely for stoking rivalry.
Woud comes across like a Twit, but I think that's the point a little.
Showed my 12 year old and hes more fired up than ever!!
Surely that's him definitely out of the national team for squad cohesion alone. I know it's a silly little promo and you shouldn't read much into it it, but he's essentially saying that none of our players are worth even a squad role on Auckland's roster. Be tough to walk into the All Whites camp with Rufer, Tuiloma, Singh and Payne after publicly saying their shark.
Odd bloke. He must put his hand up for it, because you never see Nando, Sakai, or FdV in these sharkhousing videos
Woud is actually an on paper chance to be the 3rd AWs keeper in March.
Sail out injured, Sims fighting to be the starting GK at GAIS with Swedish season to start straight after the FIFA window, and Gray at relegation threatened Harrogate in L2 - a league where some games are postponed for FIFA windows and some ain't.
Might come down to a pick between Woud & Tzanev (squad keeper at Huddersfield). And yeah as JJ says why bother bringing a mouthy very fringe World Cup candidate into the AWs setup, at the risk of upsetting some other more important national team squad members.
Just caught the train in quite a few Nix fans and one AFC fan. Nice guy bit of banter and chat said to him are you on your way to the Shepards Arms ( where Port are meeting). He rolled his eyes and said not likely, got the distinct impression he wasnt a fan. He said nothing wrong with some banter but many of them are trying to make the rilvary something it isnt or should be.
Hope I don't see any after match aggro-stirring by some of the more moronic Port crew. Most were fine last time and a bit of fun - but some acted like they needed some serious counselling about their aggro. Never seen anything like that from Welly fans, I think we're a bit more grown up.
Check this out AFC posted on facebook. Obviously said in jest but rarely a club posting that shark they already have some dumb sharks for fas and they encourage them. ,"We can’t wait to see you fill these stands later. ⚓️
Before you do however, our friends in Wellington would like to remind you not to:
- Bring in flares - Bring in smoke bombs - Throw cans - Set off fireworks
They have said there will be evictions and bans handed out for anyone who misbehaves."

Well they seem to have got away with it many time before at Sky Stadium and they don't seem to worry about it at GoMedia Stadium in Auckland.....whereas its basically never been a thing for the Fever (or any Nix fans) for almost 20years.
No Brook in the starting line up. Must be still suffering with the rib injury. With no Cosgrove and no Verstrate, this looks a dogs breakfast of a starting line up.
Top two players in the club not in the starting line up, striker suspended, quick turn around, away from home.
