What鈥檚 the plans for the day? I鈥檓 seeing it all over my feed from the port already. We got anything special planned? Smoke? Tifo? March?
Almost certainly a march, I鈥檇 guess from Queens Wharf as usual since the Featherston will be open pre-match but TBC (today鈥檚 weather is a reminder of what can happen to the best laid plans).
Not sure about a tifo or other plans at this stage - best bet is to keep an eye on the YF socials if you鈥檙e on any of those platforms, otherwise watch this thread for the usual mix of wild rumour and unfounded speculation :)
Huge game for Tim Payne. Senior experienced player, who has been very average after his return from that shoulder injury.
Needs to show that yes he deserves to be the AWs starting RB at the World Cup. Up against fellow AW in FDV.
That's providing Chiefy picks Payne to start, after dragging him at HT in Parramatta. I'm sure they have had an honest discussion this week, and if Italiano thinks TP has the right head space (ie is highly motivated to play well), he will start him.
You may be right, Payne could see himself on the bench with Sheridan doing the RWB job. Payne has always done a job for us over the years, but since returning form the shoulder injury he hasn't been the same player

These derbies have been a fudgeing miserable experience.

After 5 losses I personally prefer a very slight amount of hope. Like a candle on the darkest night. Then a brief moment of excitement before and just after kickoff before we go down by 1 goal by the 2nd minute.
So basically just like when we play any game in Melbourne except with an added touch of humiliation.

Still the Nix having the whole week to recover, train & plan for this game is a big advantage.
Corica & co can't start planning for the Nix until Wed/Thursday. They will lose pretty much all tomorrow travelling back to NZ, when you factor in the 3 hour time difference. Just the 2 days training days in NZ, Thursday & Friday.
If ever the Nix are going to break the derby losing streak..................
I do what wonder what the crowd will look like. Last time we only brought 12k and we've only continued to struggle since then. Hopefully a derby win could rejuvenate support.

Though R(w)b and L(w)b have been our problem positions this season, tbf. LKH and Sheridan have had their issues. Payne dragged at half time. Armiento preferred further forward and Edwards injured and also with questions over his defense.聽

This, in our past two games we've had two penalties the on-field referee called get overruled by VAR. Both of them at the very least is a 50/50 decision and not a clear and obvious error by the referee to award the pen. (I still think both are pens).聽
VAR hyper fixating on these moments and completely avoiding violent conduct? That's a joke and I hope the Match Review Panel have a look. You have a referee, two linesman, a fourth official, a VAR AND an assistant VAR. How do 6 people let that slip?!聽
