While I can’t see it not being at the game, looks like Eze was the last Nix to walk off after still engaging with fans well after the final whistle.

He’s a Nigerian prince that fella and the only one who showed any fight until Piper came on. I still don’t know why Piper wasn’t brought on at half time.

Sadly I think Eze is suspended next game.

I'm just laughing at all the people here who defended Chiefy after that 6-1 hammering last season 😂

You happy now?
No one pays any attention to people like you that only comment here when the club comes off a loss or is in a negative space

Mate, I've been supporting the club for over a decade, full of praise for past coaches, players and staff. I'm entitled to criticize and voice my displeasure. And yeah, I'm having a dig at those responsible for what can only be described as an utterly shambolic, almost dysfunctional,  spineless football club (They can prove me wrong though by sacking the coach in the morning, but I wouldn't be so sure 🤭)
Whatever man. You only seem to comment negative stuff over the last 4 years since ive found this forum. You're clearly taking glee in this loss right now to prove some point you made to yourself a year ago.

Of course if you were proven wrong by Chief I doubt you'd be posting here saying how wrong you were.

And 4 midfielders within touching distance of each other. I have no idea what our set up plan was, or why, but it looked a bunch of 4 yr old kids.

I kind of feel for him; every club in the world's biggest leagues are now driven by stats, analysis and data over real seat of the pants coaching - and trying to bring the future of sports to the club was admirable, and he seemed a genuinely good guy - but for whatever reason that approach doesn't work in the A-League.

One good thing to come out of that. Should never have been given the reigns this year.

Feel like he had some bold ideas. Just picked the wrong players and who knows what his trainings were like. Whatever he did do..it clearly wasn't working...

I don't feel bad for him. Two terrible seasons and it was clear he should have resigned after the second derby this year. He literally waited till he had ruined the season as much as possible.

Farewell Chief!
Some good goals this season and those weeks at number one. Oldy driving through the midfield, or Pennington or our Costa Rican mate.

Kosta got the chance to say a proper farewell to his boyhood club, for which I hope he thanks you for at some stage. Tim Payne revitalised and revisioned. Rufer as a captain. Seeing a local team play out from the back. Something we’ll  likely never see again. Paulsen had trained for it his whole career.

Hope we’ll all see better days soon.

A year too late but at least he's apologized and taken responsibility for a change. Be interesting what players keep their spots under the new coach, since a fair few of them didn't cover themselves in glory today.

I still remember Daniel's header against Melbourne Victory that 2007 day. I will still support this blimmin' football team. I hope for better days to come.

Eze should be offered a 5 year contract subject to him finding a dozen or so African origin mates with the same skill level and attitude

The guy is brilliant

Steady on. He’s not wishing ill, just not sparing sympathy for a guy who took on a tough job that a lot of people get happiness from as a result.

If he wasn’t up to it, it hurts people.

That’s a judgement call, but he certainly struggled with some aspects of the job.

The jobs what it is and he got paid for it.

I think we might not be out of the woods for tough times ahead. I guess we’ll see.

I didn't wish him Ill, I just said I don't feel bad for him. I feel bad for kids with cancer, I don't feel bad for a coach who was given two seasons and a complete personalised rebuild and shark the bed. That's just the nature of the beast, I'd certainly respect him more if he peaced out earlier. Love to see you point out where I wished him Ill.

At the very least we have plenty of time to find a new coach for the next two seasons. I hope we find an external hire and bring in someone with fresh ideas. If we're short on cash then the NPL Victoria could be a place to scout, it's basically the highest level of football outside the A-League and Pro league.

Also I'll never forget the 23/24 season and the memories that came with it. While everything after wasn't great you can never take away the fact that he gave us the best season the Nix ever had.

mate I've been sticking the knife since at least three derbies ago. Him blaming everyone else for his player selection, recruitment and results really wore me down.

I don’t wanna go all Jacinda cos someone will get ticked off and you all know me so it’d be kinda hypocrisy, but we need to rebuild the Fever to and be kind to each other after the game today…

I don’t wanna belong to a club that uses excessive fouling as a genuine tactic the way AFC seems to have.

I enjoyed when we played the Jets and both teams attacked and attacked without cynically kicking out or surrounding the ref or anything. Both teams backed themselves to score what they needed and it was a great game of football.

Anyway, Chief’s gone. End of the Chief/Uffie era. Hope Gilly has been at work with the other football committee members. Bev probably could do both jobs simultaneously right?

One thing that makes me proud of the Nix as a club, is that at least for the vast recent memory we haven't ever been a niggly or excessively aggressive side. We've always tried to play football. Maybe thats me being naive because it apparently doesn't win silverware, but at least in the hard times it's something I can get behind.

Is it fair to say Rufer, Eze, and Chiefy were honestly the only ones we can say showed some actual honour today?

Rufer apologised to the fans, Eze never stopped fighting, I think someone even mentioned he was one of the last players out with the fans, and Chiefy finally did the right thing when the club didn't have the balls to sack him.

As bad as it is to lose 5-0, a statement thrashing like that will drive change much faster than five 1-0 losses in a row. Get a new coach in and rebuild.

Chiefy and Josh Oluwayemi have probably forever tainted this derby, it could have been the most amazing institution, a promise of all that football could and should be in NZ.

There was the very first Oluwayemi derby blunder, and I remember him being pretty weak in failing to stop a Pijnaker header in derby #2, then today. He very much played his part.

Anyone with a passing interest in this will probably forever mock and dismiss it from here on out, no matter what happens in the next 5 years or so. People who would have rightfully been curious about it at its inception, despite not being big football followers.

Such a missed opportunity. And it never should have been like this. Nix management get what they deserve. Anyone who thought Chiefy should have had his contract extended last year needs their head read.

Italiano quit, so there is one good thing about today’s trashing. I widh the club had the balls to do it last year.
I promise I‘ll re-join know all games again and support the new interim coach and the team with all of my heart. I‘m pretty sure we will see some surprising good football frim the lads.

I thought Hughes and Piper showed guts.

I have no idea why Najjarine and Retre ,were out there, although they could be victims of working to appalling instructions.

What I watched from the Phoenix today did not resemble football much.
