Short turn around this week.

Adelaide has the best Home Record in the league atm, so this is gonna be a rough one.

this doesnt usually end well for anyone, let alone us.. Played 27 games there, and have only won 4.. And no Rufer, have a feeling this might get ugly if we start badly. Hope not

On the other hand, we have nothing to lose (relatively speaking) as nobody expects much.  My own wishlist would be to accommodate Piper better, and give Mileusnic and Kartum more time on the field.
If Mileusnic cannot play alongside Eze, then he is not much of value this season except as a backup.
Sander Kartum's no-show continues to puzzle me, I genuinely expected to see more of him and more from him.

Another Nix graveyard, no Rufer, we're so fudged.

We're not making the top six, our focus now really should just be on avoiding the wooden spoon. Eze of course will be back, but it would be good if Greenie made some other changes to the starting line-up after last week's disappointing selection.

Not so bothered about selection of players.

What i expect to see is players not standing in exactly the same positions for every goalkick, every corner, every free kick, passing every possession back to the centre half,  taking free kicks and throw ins backwards.

You know, like, to coach these guys how to attack, put the opposition under pressure, how to force mistakes, how to have an array of different corner kicks, how to be consistently positive...

Greenacre had another week with team. I expect a better, more consistent performance like playing two half times decent football this is not much ask for.
I hope Eze make a different and we can score. Don't wanna see Piper. I like to see Mileusnvic, Kartum in starting lineup and make a change.

I can quickly do the extended line-up changes

In: Payne, Eze, Cassidy
Out: Rufer, McCarron, Loke

I'd guess two changes to the starting line-up (Eze for Piper, Kartun for Rufer) but can't make any claims to knowing.

Please to see I am not the only one wanting to see more out of Sander and Mileusnic.  Especially Sander who after the first good performance against the Jets proceeded to look more and more perplexed with every game.

Yuck. There's a lot of luck in football but not expecting too much from this 11. Wouldn't be starting Najjarine, Sheridan or Retre (though Retre had a great first half last week, maybe wanted to prove something).

I would imagine more a 352 with Piper and Eze up top, Najjarine in the 10 and Kazu and Retre the deeper mids.

Short match thread, but at least the past 2-3 days have been free of a lot of negativity. 🤣

In all seriousness though hopefully Greenie having another week with the squad will give us a more balanced approach and we can kick on a gear or two from the Sydney game. Eze back will be a big + for that, but we need guys around him to step up and be counted too.

Only four players in that XI who are contracted beyond the end of this season as well. Perhaps its a little late for guys to start staking a claim for renewal (of which I'd only look at Armiento at this stage as being worthy of extension) but god damn I'd love to see some fight to try and get the three points tonight - Try get us off the bottom of the table at least! COYN.

Next year one of the priorities is to sign a decent left back.

God knows why we never replaced Sutton (not counting the signing from the state league)

not inspired by the lineup, I would have captained one of the four who's on contract past this season though.

That's good its fixed. I know I can be negative (all I want is a successful mens team in the phoenix and maybe be too blunt). I was thinking I got banned somehow.

Props to get it up before the game started though.

I’d rather Retre not start but kinda has to with Rufer out. Would be a big decision to throw Cassidy in there without playing the last few months. Sander should be starting ahead of Ramy tho. And Payne probably not quite fit enough to start over Sheridan.

I have Asahi, Kirin and Yebisu and one beer from something called Trap Door Brewing!  Though they’ve all been in the fridge since the holidays. I’m going to preemptively celebrate today.

My broadcast options are dicking around again after managing to show me the games for a couple of months, so may have to wait for the forum to tell me if we’re okay!

tbf we nearly conceded after 30 seconds.

Piper is defending on the right during rest defence, ADL with two wingers and fbs are going to be focussing on the wings, but in our moments attacking he is playing more centrally alongside Eze. Najjarine is defending on the left but drifting into more of 10. Its more 541 without the ball and a loose 352 with the ball.

Lucky not to concede there either! Josh has an awful habit of coming out to far in his box and getting done easily

I thought Josh did OK there. Forced him into a hasty wide touch. Vs a right in front one on one if he held off.

Billy T can't be enjoying this high line.
