Hughes not doing his reputation any harm (probably jinxed it)

Just came on to say exactly this. This match again shows Hughes is a fantastic prospect in a poor, poor team. I hope he gets a Surman like move, he deserves it, he's really good.

Oh here is Kartum. Odd that he isn't seeing more playing time.
I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

Don’t quite understand why we took our best player Eze off at the 70 min mark.

Anyone understand?

Auckland will rise once more

Because going to the team with the best home record in the league, where we've hardly ever won in the past, and not winning is unacceptable?

That's just not reality. It sounds like unless he does awfully he'll get the gig

he's an interim. if he ends up witn 0 points from his first 2 games, its unaceptable. no manager bounce, players don't get up for him and yet he's auditioning for the full time gig.

sorry not being negative but these games are free hits and in both they haven't showed up, I know Piper scored but we should have been down 1-0 after 20 seconds.

Reckon we need to sub off Piper and bring on some fresh legs - he was doing a lot of work covering Adl left and now is not and overloads are being created down Adl left.

to anyone agonising over our top 6 chances, i admire your optimism

Well we definitely don't look like a top 6 team. Extremely conservative start from Greenacre, coochiee is probably loving this, but he absolutely isnt going to turn things around fast enough for us this season. I dont think he is even trying to or believes it is possible. But at least we have been slightly more solid at the back than we were under Chiefy. A quantum of pride restored.

This is dog shark football, 80% of our players aren't a league quality. We have several players who appear unable to even pass. I need to stop watching this garbage and just wait till next season.

you've got to start the tidy up somewhere. it might as well be with foundations, considering we were leaking so many

Was that a penalty? Would feel aggrieved if it was given against us but jeez I've seen them given

At least we looked a little bit more solid at the back, i think Greenie is trying to fix one little issue at the time and the past 2 games have been on the defence.  I'm just unsure if there are enough games left for Greenie to turn this around fast enough.

Happy with a point away today.

Historically, a point at Coopers is a good result. With this side it's nearly miraculous. If three points at Coopers is a minimum success criteria there aren't many managers in the convo.

I don't want to see Mileusnic coming on for the rest of the season.

A draw vs a top 4 side away at what has been a graveyard for us. You'd normally be sort of happy. I'll certainly take it.

But, yeh, at times we couldn't get a pass anywhere near a team mate.
It's normally a graveyard playing at Cooper's so while not pretty or overly attacking, a draw is a good result.

Bloody hell some of you are miserable buggars. I honestly dont think some if you will ever be happy.
A point at Coopers to a team that has some of the best home form at a place we have struggled to get points at since forever.
Maybe not the way people want to see us play but they stuck at it and didnt give up.
As for Greenie guess some of you havnt bothered listening to the messaging its his job get used to it.

GET YOUR SHIRTS OFF FOR THE BOYS

Decent game plan from Grennie to try and counter how Adl play, a lot of work for the WBs and Piper and Najjarine. Given that we could have maybe brought on subs a little earlier. A major issue is the quality gap between the teams, Adl good across the squad and the subs - we have a meh squad, some up to it and some just barely hanging in there.

Very few are criticising the result if you take a read through. Just pointing out that we were second-best in the game and holding out for a point, didnt look like we wanted to win.

I don't mind that because I know finals is long gone, but when they've been talking about winning games and still being in contention for finals, it's a bit contradictory.

At this point I honestly don't care about making the top six. We would be out straight after the elimination final again if we were to somehow make it, especially with the squad we currently have.

I'd rather focus on us avoiding the wooden spoon, regaining some pride, and finishing this season as postively as we can.

Getting a point at what is another Nix graveyard, is a good start.

I don't want to go raving, but without the blunders we'd have been a top 6 side this year. The number of games we've dropped a point or two in, to abject errors, easily gets us there. We've scored the goals.

But the early injuries and effect of cards has meant we've not had a lot of consistency in selections.  We look like we've not played together a lot because we haven't.  So, yeh, we look crap a lot of the time. But we've still scored those goals.

With a bit of a run without injuries, and building on the base Greeny is already shoring up, who knows.

If the guys can get a W v Perth and build a little confidence then we've got Brisbane after that.  One step at a time.

Better teams than us have gone to Coopers and come away with nothing so we've got to take that surely? A better idea of where we really stand will be over the next couple of games against Perth and Brisbane - Teams that are more or less on par with what we are - Average.

Disappointing in the end to not to hold on to the 1-0 lead, but in the end we scraped it out when in years gone by we would have thrown it away completely and walked away with nothing.

Is Greenie the messiah? The one that will lead us to the promised land?
I don't think so necessarily, but it seems he's being pragmatic with the hand he's been dealt. It feels as though his role at the moment is a steadying of the ship, rather than taking too much of a foray into unknown waters ahead.

Good fight from the lads tonight overall too. But fight, grit and determination will only get you so far in this league. We need that polish, and a bit (a lot!) of quality to start shining through if we're going to take home more points over the rest of the season.

Onwards and upwards.

I was worried that we would get a pasting away at Coopers. Adelaide showed good passing game, so I am glad they did not get through our much improved defence  more than once this time.
I know many here would prefer us to immediately improve 100% in all departments, but for my money it already was a better defensive performance than the last few games under Chiefy.
We did not seem to be missing Rufer as badly as I thought before the game.   I also thought that Sheridan and Nagasawa were both showing more skills in this game than under Chiefy.  And Oluwayemi did alright all day.  Worrying signs about Tim Payne's game, not sure if he is properly recovered yet.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days
