Nix on a 2 game slide vs the bottom of the table Perth Glory, now managed by Ruben Zadkovich.

Sail, Lewis, Waine & Old are due back for this, however Payne is absent. Ball has served his suspension but no word on Piscopo or Van Hattum's injuries.

Ruben 'Seventeen Seconds' Zadkovich? Now that's a turn up for the books.

Must win game this and no real excuses, had a decent break, playing a team relaying on academy and youth, and in poor form with their main striker out in international duty. We getting players back, so personally i will not be happy or will accept a poor result.

Seems like the last few pre game interviews Uffie has had, Piscopo is one game away from being back - hopefully this is the case now.

Add to the injury list. Hopper out. Laws out. Sotirio out.
Piscopo only good for a few minutes. Payne away
And we have two games a week for the next three weeks.
Going to be tough.
Who will be left standing by the time they get to play in Wellington?

Edit. Hooper maybe done for the season.  Is it time to bring back Roy? Or give Tommy Semi a go?

Where does it say Laws is out? Defo worth giving Semmy a shot if Krishna is not keen on returning.

Transfer window is closed, only people that can be signed are amateur players or professional players who were uncontracted on the 10th Feb when the window closed.

So totally unfit pros or take a punt from the NPL.

Reckon Uffie himself would do a fairly decent job! I’d back him as a central striker…

I've gone from thinking we will make the finals to we should make the finals to we might make the finals, all in the space of a few weeks.

Somehow or other we must conjure up a win in this game, no matter how many names are missing from the team sheet.

Well looking at this another way- we won’t have the opposition having signed a contract to pay our best available player a million dollars next year.
We will have Waine, who is due a scoring run. We will have a bunch of other players who played great during a cup run. We may have Sandoval and Piscopo hitting form.
We’ve got Ball, Sutton and Fenton. We’ve got Wootton and Tim Payne. Lewis is one of our senior footballers.
Ben Old will get a chance to shine.

Bigger ask than when we had Hemed and Davila mowing them down.

But no reason we can’t make the finals.

Edit: geez and I forgot the marvelous Ollie Sail. Genuinely I would play him up front for part of some games, as he’s huge and has good feet, and Paulsen is a decent deputy. That and I’m of lesser footballing intelligence than most!
Perhaps as well one of the new guys has a Ben Waine like break-through performance…Is it Ott that was called Mt. Ott upfront by the commentators?

Fenton Wootton Surman Sutton
Lewis Pennington
Old Sandoval

My guess about how we line up.

Reno as an impact sub? Who else is on the bench? Still think 10 minutes of Ollie playing in one of the front four spots would confuse and amaze.

Defence a little light, but they have to play one ( or two games?) before Payne is back? Elliot and McGarry need to show something too. They’re experienced professionals.

"Reno Piscopo is also rated a small chance to return from injury, but he is not expected to start if he does."

From Phillip Rollo's Hooper article.

With Hopper and Sotirio out. the stage is set for Waine to shine. Off the back of a goal on international debut, we really need him now to push on at A league level and prove his worth. He is capable.

Kurt Ams is the Ref. I rate him least for consistent decision making. Just hope the game doesn't become a lottery.

Talay has tested positive for COVID, meaning he's out for the next 7 days at least.
Italiano to take charge for next two games.
Hope it doesn't affect the rest of the squad.

New rules are if you can't field a team the game is called off with neither team claiming points too.

Honestly, the end of this season is getting ridiculous!
I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

Even with the injuries, I'm pretty confident we'll get the win. Perth has been the worst team in the league and without their best player

This pitch is awful, bare patches everywhere, bumpy as a cow paddock.
Perth are really struggling with our wide play, Reddy is going to be tested tonight.
