has been done all season I think, especailly with the ones beside the goals.

Actually reckon Sasse would do alright as an AM in a 4-2-3-1. He's ballsy enough to actually run at players and cause some troubles for opposition defences, and he's good enough to pick a run from players coming through, especially in broken play situations.

Only thing holding him back is consistency. But smart play to find Kosta for his chance a few minutes ago.

it's pretty clear to e that this team isn't playing the way Uffie has asked them to - sitting on a 1-0 lead is insane - I think it's sail and maybe Rufer leading this "we have a lead lets sit on it". You can hear Talay screaming at the players to get the ball forward - this has been the case all season, yet as pointed out we have the ball in the attacking half and then we long ball it all the way back to the keeper.

 
That’s on Talay. It’s been going on for weeks and he’s not done anything to fix it.

not a lot he can do if the capts decide to slow play down when we have a lead - especially during the game. He can bench them - which he;s done to Rufer, he can harrass them during training which I assume he does but during the game what can he do?

He could have benched them weeks ago when they weren’t doing what he asked them to. Then we might have had a home final. He should have taken 2 off at 30 minutes and put on BK and Clay. Maybe even AP, and send a message to the others; 
Talay has been like this from day one; when it good well he’s fine, when it’s not going well he shouts and gesticulates and when it goes pear shaped he stands on the sideline with the look of a stunned mullet. No balls.

odd to replace Sasse who has been the best outlet all game. I hate the "lock it up" attempt at the 65th minute - it's never worked for us.

This game is the reason I'm relieved that we don't have Talay next year.

That's where I expect a lot more from Ugarkovic: steals the ball in a good tackle but passes it straight back to them.

Ufuk obviously practicing backs to the wall 5 at the back playoff football. Don't know how effective the impotent macarthur are going to be as a sparring partner though

When you have 20minutes to go, surely we cant park the bus now with only a one goal advantage

I mean for all the angst this half have we been so very bad? We've had three good opportunities, they've had one speculator and for the most part we have shut down their attacks. Better than the last 20 in the first half anyway.

it is "finals footy" I guess, but most want to see 4+ goal spectaculars. Or at least the intent.

We  can start time wasting all we like now. Our aerial defence has been pretty decent this half.

Well it wasnt the prettiest, but that's how you win games.
MacAuther are nowhere near the quality of Adelaide but the clean sheet will give the defence confidence. Zawada scoring again is great, just got to get someone else to support him

Job done. Yes Macarthur aren't great but that was the best half of defensive football we've seen in quite a long time.

The defence was much more resolute which will serve the boys well going into the finals but fudge me that made for some dull viewing. In a weird way I think the poor broadcast quality added to the whole negative vibe. Hope we get our creative attacking juices back for the elimination playoff. And we get our flair back.

Insane that there is a 20 point gap between 1st and 6th and only a 9 point gap between 6th and 12th.

At least it was a win.

Certainly better than a draw for confidence but I am nervous that Zawada is still the only scorer and we let them in a lot at the end, a better team might have scored.

Still, a wins a win, 3 more games till we hold up that sweet ass trophy.

I mean, you're right, but man an 8 goal thriller would be an exciting and stressful 90 mins.

It's like any cricket game that comes down to a final over.  I'd rather we win earlier but is there anything more exciting than those final 6 balls?

It's continually hard to watch Zawada fail to score more than once, but he got us another important goal.
