WSW haven't looked great so expecting us to play them into form.

This is where our unbeaten run comes to a end, we just cant match the bigger teams so our best out come would be a narrow 3-0 loss.

The world goes through a once in a lifetime pandemic and Royz still hasn't changed. It's nice to know that some things are unshakable.

2-1 Nix, Waine/Sotirio

WSW still looking like they are trying to gel together, however they did come out against Jets in 2nd half. I would say a draw. 1-1

I think we should win this, as long as we play our style and if we play like we did against MacArthur,  i see no reason why we can’t get 3 points. However,if Laws isn’t careful on Hemed (i think they will target Laws),  i think we will get punished, they do have more firepower than the Mariners pose

Bar for Laws mistake last week I think he has looked very solid. Far better this year than last year.

He seems stronger in the air and like he has bulked up a bit too. His passing from the back is also improved.

I've been pleasantly surprised by the Payne and Law combo so far.

That's a generous and positive viewpoint which is fair enough. Problem is it's certainly not the first time he's looked vulnerable and it won't be the last. He's a long way from being the rock solid Taylor-type CB we need.

Not a criticism, just a fact, and unfortunately I think the kind of defensive lapses we've already seen so far will cost us until we manage to cement a better player, if we do.

I did like the fact that after that horrendous error he didn't go to pieces; he kept making himself available and put in some important tackles and blocks. That's the sign of a player with a good mental attitude. He's a young guy and will definitely improve over time.

I remember one point last season we were ahead, but we were attacking end to end at our opponents pace and had the jitters. Two players really got the ball, controlled possession, slowed the tempo and showed some composure and that was Lewis and Laws.
There’s a reason Uffie keeps selecting him and I hope he can demonstrate it throughout the season.

I would expect another tight tussle. I think Reno has plenty to prove after last's week's shenanigans, Waino too. However, I reckon Hoops will benefit and score again. It might be enough.

Think it not just those two that Talay has faith in. Glad its him making the decisions and not some you see posting on some of the forums. Love how he seems to be able to get something out of most of the players he has. If we get those January transfers he is after hopefully if we can stay fit we will be a real threat.

Tis the sign of a top notch gaffer.

We may not have the financial might of some of the other clubs going around, but he gets the most out of what he has at his disposal. That in itself is a true testament to his character. Especially with us being based in Aussie for long periods of time, with players and staff away from home, friends and family. It could have all gone to absolute custard, but he has pulled the strings together magnificently - no mean feat when you consider that throughout our existence we've been pretty woeful away from Wellington/NZ.

We are lucky to have someone as passionate and as diligent as him at the helm.

My first thought when the penalty debacle started last week was, 'this is actually good'. We need people who are determined, committed and want to stand out. It didn't pay off for Waine but still, a bit of conflict or tension is good in any team, so long as it's managed well. I expect Laws and Waine will have a point to prove, as well as Piscopo who will want to show that he is rightfully the set piece taker/play maker in the team. And I think if we stick to our guns we could get a good result

Feeling Nix 2-1, being at "home" will favour us again and Wanderers just haven't looked the full picture this season so far. They've got very threatening players but I think it can reliably be said that those players won't all click in time for this Friday. We've got a great team chemistry, an exceptional gaffer and particular players who can make a difference, I'm feeling very positive.

I am sure Hemed will be a bigger threat than anything CCM or Macarthur were throwing at us, but they are yet to win a game. With two games under our belt our confidence will be on the up; and it will be easier to handle WSW now than if they were our first game.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Depends if Rodwell starts, i think the combination of Rodwell and Urgakovic is stronger than Rufer and Lewis, I think its where they will exploit us

I watched Rodwell closely last week, being and Everton fan. My take aways were...

He wins everything in the air.
He sat very deep
He was constantly talking and pointing out directions
He was a little lazy tracking and lets his man drift away

It's the last point I hope we see more of.

I don't think Rodwell is gonna impress tbh, should've been sent off last week with a shocking tackle so hopefully he does start

Tactically we're the best team in the league. Southern European (Italian) tactics have always worked well. Ufuk knows them well.

Opponents have to beat us with individual skill. It'll happen but it's difficult.

Hemed to score against us - usual old story of a former player coming back to haunt us. I think we are doing well as a unit. ^This will be an interesting double header.

The curse abides, Kurto stopped about 3 nailed on winners for us.

Finish work at 6pm tomorrow, and turns out is also my swing day to Saturday night shift.

In other words, the perfect opportunity to get several beers deep and wake up safely in the knowledge of having bagged the 3 points the night prior.

Come on boys, don't end up giving me a hangover...

There's gonna be a lot of red faces in here when WSW smash us for 4,  Ibini with a brace and a own goal from Laws. With players out injured we are just making up the numbers in the league.

Misery needs company. He's running at less than 1%. That Marinovic should be dropped for Sail I've give him that, from 2,400 digs at how useless 'X' player or the team in general are playing.

But mostly as he types out his inane scratchings, holed up in there in Mt Druitt or some other souless Western Sydney sharkhole, driving his forklift on 'the big Aussie bucks' - I'm reminded of ex PM Muldoon.

Disagree, I think Wanderers have the players to be the best team in the league, personally think they will be infuriated at the season so far and will spur into action tonight. I've actually got Ibini to score 4, naturally a double from Tomer Hemed, fancy Ogawa and Petratos to grab one each as well, and probably an oggie too. That comes to 9-0 Wanderers, which for me is a pretty conservative estimate considering the weaknesses in our defence and our keeper being among the worst in the league.

Disagree, just after kickoff a previously un-tracked asteroid will enter the field of play obliterating everything within three miles of the stadium and plunging the planet into a new ice age, causing the deaths of millions. An A-League investigation will judge that the asteroid entered the field of play from the Phoenix half, and we will be docked every point we earn for the next century. This will be blamed on Rufer, who didn't put a block tackle in on the asteroid, and Piscopo who should have tracked back to cover him.
