The return of the Wollongong Phoenix.

It’s a bit annoying that we finally get another home game on a Saturday, but it won’t actually be at Sky or EP or just in  NZ. Though I still think it’s nice we’re playing at WIN Stadium one more time just to thank Wollongong for helping us during a tough period.

Me i just dont get it what for a crowd of 2/3k if it cant be in Wellington would prefer to see it some where in NZ. Cant understand why we are so keen to give home advantage away suppose not as if we use it.

IIRC There was a contractual arrangement for the gong to have a game a year as part of being based there over the COVID seasons.

With us abandoning playing games in the 'gong partway thru last season, I wouldn't be shocked if we owed them a game or two still.

WSW were looking at putting on buses to the game, not sure if they had enough interest tho.

Oh shark I forgot this game didn't have a spot at home.

Better not make plans for the weekend now haha.

It'd be cool if they resurrected the red shirt as a real thank you to the Gong.  They did take good care of the team.

Guns and Roses concert on at the stadium on Thursday night.  I understand the band have got a plane currently parked at Wellington Airport that transports all of their equipment around.  For other concerts I have seen at the stadium (this one does not personally appeal), getting the stage etc. removed and a football pitch got ready would take more than 48 hours.

that's a decently quick recovery!
assume he'll get some sub minutes later in the game.

Looking forward to the naming of the squad and then the line-up. Changes? Rufer? Sasse? Who right back? Who centre backs?

Who.
A little surprised to see Conchie not have a youth number.
So who is the preferred back up DM going forward, Rufer (once fit) or Pennington?

Damn Surmans out i wonder how long. Really think if we keep having defensive troubles next few games he deserves a chance he just needs to be on par with Laws and Wootton for me to play as he'll only develop with more experience.

Looked like his did something to his shoulder in last Weenix game. Was subbed off after a clash/fall and treatment slightly earlier that expected

Who do we think are the three not in the matchday squad?

Uffie in his preview interview said he thought this weekend might be too soon for Alex, so I guess he's one.

If we earn a penalty today, will Kosta get a second chance, or will perhaps Zawada be given the responsibility.

I'd say he needs to impress Talay pretty soon, otherwise could be an early release in January?

OVH was subbed on ahead of him last time out against Western U.
Imports ain't signed in to sit on the bench behind 20 yr old Academy kids.

It’s a big leap from the NL to the national team. But i for one hope he makes it

Interesting line up hope Sasse can show us what he can do. Not sure about Marguis he looked okay in the games he’s played

I really expected Sutton to stand out as the best young LB in the comp. He's not had a great start (the injury would not have helped).

Hopefully Sasse has improved a lot in the past few weeks during training because, sheesh…

pretty clear that Uffie rates him and sees what he needs on the training pitch, unfortunaely that is yet to translate into stunning performances in a game.
