Will yellow fever make a statement like almost every other club? I sure hope so, and no reason to liaise the club over this. Do the right thing fever, release a statement.
I agree that the club needs our financial support, but in order to walk out you need to already be in the ground, and to be in the ground you need to have already given the club the money for a ticket or season pass. I'd absolutely support a walk out, they've already got my money and it would be a very obvious visual representation of how sharke this is from the league
From a selfish perspective had already made the plans to come down to Wellington from Gizzie for this weekends game. Getting to see our boys live is a once a season chance for me, and will only be my second time seeing the Nix at the cake tin. So I personally won't be walking out but the club already gets the financial support after people have bought their tickets so absolutely will support anyone who does join in on a walk out at the 20 minute mark and I think a few strongly worded banners for the TV cameras wouldn't go amiss either.

nix aren't on the board that made the decision, they had no say in it. not attending this double header because of this decision is punishing the wrong people.

I would be super dissapointed if the YF and fans walk out on our team to protest this decision. The league/decision makers wont care - it has not impact on them whatsoever. It'd probably not even register on their radars. It'd do more damage to the players who we are there to support and be entertained by.

Agreed. A walkout at the Melb derby likely to have much more impact than if we do it. A strongly worded banner might be the way to go.
We've had a couple of years without games in NZ to show what the Nix playing a home game in Aussie does for home support. Also I did my protest in advance by not attending our home game last weekend!
There's an element of unity with the other club supporters that I feel like shouldn't be overlooked. The argument that it most likely won't effect us, or that it won't be noticed as much as the Melbourne derby both miss the point. Walking out isn't just for our own fans, it's walking out for Adelaide's fans too, and for every other club outside Sydney. I don't want this to happen for the sake of the nix, but I also don't want this happening for any of the clubs. The save the Nix campaign only had an effect on us, but the other fan groups were very vocal in support. I feel like it's worth repaying that unity even if it might not get as many eyeballs. That's just how I feel about it though, I respect people not wanting to do it because the games are something we all spend a lot of money on and it's something we all look forward to

I agree with this sentiment. They all supported us through the bad years the least we can do is repay it.
And who's to say it won't affect us? We might well end up getting screwed by it if we have a good year or two.

Also do the fans walking out plan to go back in for the women's game? I imagine many wouldn't hang around for an hour to go back in.
I see both sides and respect the idea for sure but we only just got the club back home. If we get some casuals come back for the double header and they see everyone buggering off at the 20 minute mark without knowing context then I can't imagine that leaves a good impression for a match day experience.
But I respect fans for standing up for what's right.

Pretty much. But my point was more that I don't think anything regardless of walking or not will affect the women's crowd too much. There aren't that many of us die hards and pretty much no one else will stick around.
I consider myself a diehard, and I for one wont be walking out.
Oh sorry didn't mean every one would walk out. I just meant the ones walking out need to be pretty engaged with the team to know a walkout is happening so if a large proportion of the ones walking out would have been a chunk of the people that would have watched both games.

We all know where there TV cameras are for our game coverage right?? So at the appropriate time, we all exist the stands but instead of walking out, we all reassemble over in Aisles 5-18 where there's naf all coverage.
The stadium will "look empty in support" but our team/s will certainly get our support they desperately need.
Same goes for the Ladies game. Everyone gets a win win except the TV cameras and those whom came up with the hairbrained idea to keep everything in Sydney.
I hope to be there for this double header and stay for both games. The ladies really need our support.

Who came up with the "20 minutes"? Why not 4 minutes, or 36 minutes, 42 minutes, 79 minutes?
