Ah shark looks like Rojas has pulled up with something, back 5 by the looks of things which is expected on the road without Rojas. Brooke-Smith on the bench I wonder if we'll see him get minutes. He wasn't announced in the travelling squad? so guessing they flew him over because of Rojas.
I'm sure during the covid years we've maybe had a younger bench but thats still got to be up there with the youngest average age bench we've had in a while.
No Rojas in the squad ffs. We can't build our team around a guy who can't stay fit.
Marco Rojas a late omission after twisting his ankle in training yesterday. That's a shame as he looked quality in his first start last weekend. First start for Corban Piper and there's a chance for a debut for 16-year-old Luke Brooke-Smith. https://t.co/KGkmhGesQO

Insanity to leave both OVH & Ball out of the squad if they are both fit
It's gonna be debated further for sure if the Nix lose, with 16 yr old Brooke-Smith on the bench. Would have thought GSR would have been next cab off the rank if not picking the above 2, and Rojas injured. Though a bit Piper like, Brooke-Smith is a solid unit for a young kid.

There’s 4 guys coming off the bench with known quality. And Supyk a bit of an unknown quantity with a year’s extra growth.
The main issue is a lack of goals, and the debate is whether Ball and Oskar improve that by a tiny bit or a little bit!
It all feels a bit of a free hit without Rojas. We’re looking for plan C, not A/B.

Not sure we should be looking at it like a free hit. We’ll never progress of the team thinks that. Opportunity for some youngens to step up, lord knows we need them to.
True that he's had a big impact off the bench but IMHO his ball control needs to improve to be at A league level.InsulinMachine

Where is OVH?
Hasn't done enough imo
And again:
The kid has had 2 10 minute spells and thrown under the bus for 45 minutes as wingback ; you know, the sort of deep end Rojas hasn’t had to do because “he hasn’t played much football for 2 years”
Last year he had 1 goal, 4 assists, won a penalty and had a guy sent off for dogso. All in 372 minutes. Better figures than anyone in this squad.
I know why Nate the Grate doesn’t select him; and it’s not because he has ‘biggest brain in the a-league’, but really curious why yellow fever guys hate on him so much?
Surely you don’t all have zero understanding of football?
Is it a racism thing? Anti-semitism? Transphobia? Homophobia? Heterophobia maybe? Did he shag someone’s girlfriend? Still think Frank is his father?
What is it?
What it is? None of the childish nonsense you just listed.
You see it all over the globe. A kid might only get a few minutes here and there to prove himself. And if the coach doesn't see anything worth his while he won't play again, simple as that.
Getting more minutes "so you can improve" is wishful thinking. You improve in training and then bring it in game. And if not, you'll find a club/league that's closer to your skill level.
I wish him all the best and hopefully he can find another level but I'm not sure it'll be in the A-League.

Did Hughes break a mirror or something, jesus christ, I've never seen someone had 3 unlucky things happen 3 games in a row. His confidence must be in the toilet
Also not just Hughes fudge up. That ball went between a lot of players.
Hughes confidence is at rock bottom. He should have been left out for his own good. It also begs the question why so many of our players keep slipping over. It goes back Pain in the Victory playoff.

Is it bad luck if he does it every week? At what point do we say it's not bad luck.
Look at the actual mistakes. It's nothing to do with his actual defending. Anyone could slip over, anyone could have a ball bounce onto the arm, anyone can score an own goal when desperately trying to stop one. Unfortunately even though it's mostly bad luck, it affects his confidence and will result in more errors
