What did the keeper do wrong, they got in behind our D. He came out to shut off the angle, they pulled the ball back to a man unmarked in the 18 yard box with an easy finish.

I'd blame the D for both, letting the pass in behind and for also not covering a free man in the box - we had enough players back.

Absolutely.  Another little lesson for the future for LBS: don't forget your defensive duties. If there is a man free at the top of the box you've got to be there right on him, not standing watching two yards away.

We did concede after going ahead, but that was a good attacking first half, I reckon if we continue to play how we have been in the 2nd half, stay focused, maybe with some help from Marco, we could still win this.

I don't know, maybe I'm being too optimistic.

good half. best i reckon in quite a long time.

Are we playing in white? Decent football. The Japanese and the Portugal player bringing stability into midfield.
Not sure why the two Japanese players did not start any game.
Chico is playing Masterclass. His range of passing and tricks is the only reason I came to the game, nit disappointed.
Ishige another assist.

The Japanese lads are really a point of difference today - Nagasawa's passing vision has been great, and Ishige's corners have been spot on

Des Buckinham is here?
Sign him up!

Conchie sat on the bench by himself whilst the other subs do their half time kick about, what is going on with him?

At this point I don't care if we lose, it's just so good to see it's playing with real positive intent.

Something I've learned from today - we don't miss Retre. Rufer & Nagasawa in midfield from here on out if we are playing two 6s please

Would that foul on Ishage have been blown if he was in the penalty box...?

We deserved that! We are playing really well today.

Pleeeeeease can we keep him.

That really was an excellently worked goal. Nice small ball passing, break the lines and drive at their defence.

Well taken lads. 👏

Are we... Playing actual football !?!

We really look a good side when we go foward with some intent, as today is showing! Love to see it!

Makes the rest of the season even stranger really.

A lot of the boys are visibly tiring. Going to be a long last 10 minutes.

Damn, that ball runner needed to be pulled down, much as I hate that crap.
Well thats a shame.

Oh well, still enjoying this match which is nice for a change.

Foul on Payne?

Hmmm.

That just felt a little bit too easy. Come on lads, late winner!

Defence for that goal was pathetic

Really enjoyed the game today. Who cares about not winning, what would it have changed?

Add our regular centre backs and Rufer to the starting lineup, subtract Sheridan, LKH & LBS, and we might be a pretty good team again

Best performance in some time, we were actually enjoyable to watch today.

Big underdogs, no Rufer and Wootton.

Shame we couldn't hold on for the win, but oh well.

Geraldes you beauty!

I mean, circumstances. If we played like that with a settled back-line from match day 1... oh what could have been.

Gutsy display against a decent team.

LKH was low-key pretty damn good today. Rufer is the better option right now, but LKH was very solid as our DM pivot. Not sure what you have against our live-wire 16 year old, young players need to play and for me it's clear he's only going to get better.

i have nothing against LBS but he is simply not yet ready to be playing regularly in the a-league. That's not criticism, he's a very good 16 year old, just not starting in the A-League good.

And LKH wasn't too bad but he's a little slow and ponderous on the ball, he should not be starting as a 6 ahead of Rufer & Nagasawa.

I bet Chief would love to be able to ease LBS into the team the way Old was for reasons that are pretty obvious that hasnt been able to be done. He is going to be something special and thats from a number of people who know a lot more than me. Dont get whats to be gained by being overly critical of a young guy doing the best he can. Sure seems like you have something against him.

Very fun match, I enjoyed that. Man some attacking football and a bit of flare really makes a match. Great stuff!

Maybe I missed it but did Rojas make it on the field?

Fascinating to see Des interview Chiefy, chief looked nervous.

Young players did well against a top team. I like LKH in this position, his ball skills and vision are good

I'm just calling it as I see it on a forum. I'm not at the ground screaming abuse at him. I'm sure even if he saw what I said online he wouldn't care less, or at least he shouldn't, what I say doesn't matter
