Order of replies on the forum seems backwards (last reply on first page of thread), is this happening to anyone else?
The option to change the display order seems to have been turned off for the moment.

I noticed the same thing. The first page will show the original post for the topic then the most current and in some cases the dates or the posts are in random order.
Need a button to click on so it goes to the last post of that particular thread. Also will there be a way to avoid having to preview your post before you post it?
So both of those things were different when we first came up. You could edit order, remove threading and not have the opening page there as well as not needing a preview.
Suspect we can come back.
Well main thing the forum is still up, so that's better than constant crashes :)
Be interested to hear from Nik once the site is stable what actions were taken, for professional curiousity.
I can see my avatar in the top right hand corner welcoming me to the site, how come the avatar box is blank when I post messages? are YF able to load it in? (I can't remember where I got the avatar from now)

Normal service will be resumed shortly it's going to be sorted... it will be ok ;-)
Which photo was it again? I can only remember the couch pose.

yeah that one will do mate chur.
Another strange this is before I logged on I couldn't see some of the posts I'd made last night, but when I did logged in hey presto there they were.
The replies seem to be all over the place also. They appear to be put under the post that someone is replying too, that will make it very hard to read threads.
Ryan: Yeah, I think that's part of the new forum software.
I'm trying to find out if there's a setting somewhere for where to put replies... we're using Drupal Forums & Advanced Forums modules.
I've summarised most of what I've done on the front page. Combination of installing/bumping caches and bugging Tyson @ OpenHost for more resource :)
I LOVE LAMP

All the posts in this thread are scrambled, ie not in date or time order.
Why have a SUBJECT box when it just ignores whatever i put in it?
I don't want to reply to a post in an established sub-forum, so it's best to QUICK REPLY? How about NEW POST?
Also rather than SAVE after the mandatory & annoying PREVIEW, how about POST?
It's been a bit of fun, but wish the SHAMBLES was over now.
Kotahitanga. We are one.
Looking at how to get rid of that.
The threading should be gone now. It was a bit of a job to flatten it, and as there are so many comments it was really hard alongside the performance issues (trying to run a big job when we're already maxing out the CPU for apache and the slow query log is getting longer by the second == no fun!) Still working on tweaking the order so that it does newest posts on the last page - there's a config setting I'm using that apparently has no effect whatsoever, fun fun.

I can change the text on the button (I think), will look into that. Also trying to figure out how to get rid of the mandatory preview. I can see what I've typed already ffs.

You're not the only one, trust me :)
When all of the shambles regarding forum performance are over, hopefully New Cakes will get a chance to tweak picture settings so that Siggy can whack Kruse in the face again. Until then, I'll leave up the pic of Kruse as an incentive :P
Thanks heaps for your hard work Nik, it's really appreciated! Nice to see the forum posts showing up in chronological order again as well!

Subject Box - Gone.
Threaded Comments - Gone.
Mandatory Preview - Gone.
Button Labels - Not changed, it's a lot of effort, do you mind clicking "Save" instead of "Post"?
Shambles - Well, we're getting there.

Hmmm yeah that sucks. I just grabbed the .gif off of the backend and it looks like all the other frames are still there, wonder why it's not playing. Something to do with the imagecache plugin no doubt. I am on the case!
PS: If you change your sig to use <img src="url-here"> rather than that other stuff it should work again. I can edit it for you if you want.
This get better every day, well done Nik. I'll be back to slumming it in the forums every lunch time in no time!
Am in! Great! ....can't remember what I wanted to post now....

If it helps, Kruse does get his face smashed in up the top next to the 'Hello patrick478', just not on the forum.
I think all of us are going to be shouting you a (free... hmmm...) beer tonight at 4Kings Nik!

Well, I *kinda* fixed it, but we won't be doing that again... I cleared the image cache and all hell broke lose as the stupid software decided to resize and cache every single avatar...
Kruse looks kinda broken at the moment....
Kruse is back and getting smashed just like before...
Oh Nik you are a god.
Custom titles making a comeback instead of the stupid post levels?
I predict some pretty obscure things to come up under the 'yellow fever debate' part of the website. It's going to be great.
We will never fully decide who has won the football.
Good to see the site working again to a good level.
Good to see the posts appearing in the right order :)
