Alex Smith will be devastated, but being an ex-Nix himself, he will at the same time be proud that we're going to a GF.

Great result. Well done the Phoenix women.
And the Nix management, good return on their investment into the women’s team this year, and getting a quality coach.
Wonder where Vlok will end up, she is class

What a game, superb effort from all involved. From fan to player to groundsfolk. Can be very proud of that and I’m glad they got the result they’ve been striving for. I got nervous when woods missed those glorious chances but then she got that winner.

Can’t wait for the grand final. Wife is out that evening so me and my boys will be tuning in!

Bloody awesome. Huge team effort.
Big ups to Jale though. Think she won everything in the air that came her way. And those girls that have been in this team from the early days just brilliant.
Now for Bev to get this team up for one more huge performance.

After all these years. From day 1. Just very satisfying to finally make a GF.

Feels right. Just smiling.

Go the girls next week. Gotta be a chance.

Just booked my flights and accommodation for the Grand Final.  Anyone else going?  Anyone started a Grand Final thread?  I am assuming we will get the usual little corner of yellow allocated at AAMI park for Phoenix fans.

Still hard to believe after all the years of frustration, the times we came close (especially 09/10 and 23/24) with the men, we’re finally making a GF.

We will be the underdogs next Saturday, but if anyone can motivate, get the ladies ready for this, it’s Bev.

Talking to people after the game there are at least half a dozen of us going over from Wellington, plus some dedicated Nix supporters from Sydney and Canberra coming down to join us and VicNix.

It’d be nice for once to get the South Terrace as the away team, but yeah we’ll probably end up in that corner bay again.

Well that’s a bit of an awkward one the commentator says.

Dangerous play as we call it. Not in control, two feet off the deck over, through and around the ball.
Commentators talk nonsense and I’m not sure the ref has cards or knows what a fowl is.
We haven’t been as sharp this half and probably deserve what might come to us having not taken our chances.
Trivia question - when was YF shirts off not a thing after winning at 80min..
You have been outa the zone to long Greenie

Far ooooout those last few minutes dragged by way too slowly. This is so legendary!
The last 15!
I wasnt enamored with 15 mins of sit deep and hammer the ball down the other end, forgetting possession.
But it worked, the defence looked pretty robust I thought.

I thought that was an immense effort. We looked the most likely all the way through, we just needed to get it right at the pointy end.

I thought Jale was immense. Difficult to pick out too many individuals because everyone impressed me apart from Woods - and she got two goals!

Picking on some of the less accoladed players, I though Pijnenburg and Elliott stood up and put in huge shifts.

Sad to see Fraser barely involved.

God you're miserable. We just came back from being 2-1 down on aggregate to make our first ever GF and all you have to say it what a terrible game :/

Booked my flights and accommodation tonight! I'm coming from Sydney though so a bit of an easier one for me

Looking forward to it!

Gosh what a ride that was. Proud of this team and of course the staff and all they have done. Crowd was absolutely fantastic, chanting pretty much the whole way through.  Heard Joshy you're a goal keeper chant, was he there? Assume so.  I didn't spot any of the mens team.  Saw Iffy and his daughter.  Sat not too far away from Michael Mayne, he didn't once clap or celebrate the goal or win.

Excellent work on the Tifo too.

Yep, he came and joined us in the Fever zone for a while, even got on the drums briefly I think.

Also forgot to add was very scared that Esson was going to get a second yellow card for time wasting because she still took her dam time.

Interesting that in this leg Brisbane only had 1 shot on target to our 5.

Great day for us long suffering Nix fans. I watched this in the early hours of the morning on the other side of the world. One of my best experiance ever as a Nix supporter. The ground looked fantastic with the crowd close to the action. The YF came over loud on TV, loved the Bev banner!!!!
It was a tense and hard fought match and everyone put in a shift. Shout out to young Vlok....what a talent.
Bev is a great coach. Im sure she will get the team in the right zone for the grand final. They can celebrate tonight because they deserve it.

Trying to talk the Missus into going. Not looking super likely sadly. Lots of things we can’t put down or make up later currently.

But she’s more a Vic girl and I’m more a Queenslander- tough, aggro and generous…I like to think…😄

I have spent one night in Melbourne for work, but had to leave in the morning before the trams started running…

Thought about trying to get to the Brisbane leg too.

Another special campaign, another best ever from the club in the last 3-4 years.

Agree about Pijnenburg and Elliot. That was the best performance I've seen from Elliot. And it's been great to watch Pijnenburg gradually mature over the course of the season. For me she's the most improved player in the squad. The calm, classy way she controlled that ball deep in her own half before sending it wide for Nunn to set up the second goal was a joy to watch.
