I say publicly execute them in the centre circle as the half time entertainment next home game

Or force them to sing Ring of Fire without any music to the crowd.

terminator_x Think you might find the area the Victory fans were in was designated the away Bay so maybe they had a right to think it was their area . If you moved into it then your in the wrong also and security shouldnt have allowed any home fans into that bay,
Thats why  there are designated away zones to avoid this sort of thing.
Maybe the Stadium stuffed up because normaly the away bay is behind the goal and well away from home fans.
Doubt very much the A League likes the idea of home fans sitting in with the travelling fans cant be one rule for NZ and another for stadiums in Aussie.

A few have mentioned Old was pretty quiet again which I think in the circumstances was fair enough being down to 10, but he has again shown he's often our most dangerous play breaking kind of player. He did bloody well to slipped past a defender and find some space to pick out OVH for what ended up being the penalty.
Dead keen to see us try get him on the ball and isolated against defenders more often

Old & Ball seemed to be swapped around from their usual roles, Ball in the middle of the park & Old out wide. So a lot of Old's problems imo were from him getting to the sideline & the only option being able to go back infield.

So happy to see OVH starting to make an impact off the bench. If he could fill the Sotirio role, it would be a boost for us. His last 3 matches:

Sydney - Assists for Kosta's goal
Adelaide - Brought down for the Adelaide Red Card
Victory - Brought down for the Penalty.

Strung up on the steel phoenix and left to the mercy of a potential goal scored and the resulting flames.

Add to that a couple of good runs to get into goal scoring positions, with the shots just slipping by the post and the delivery he hung up for Pennington who got in a good header that hit the post. And that his physical conditioning and body language seem better- he seems fitter and tougher.

He’s a different proposition as a sub to a dribbler like Old, but he’s beginning to show some of his promise.

Remember when A League referees were targeting or appeared to be targeting Rufer and giving him cards for anything. He's matured a lot and although he sits on 4 for this season, if you take into account the roles he has been given, 4 is not a large amount. He is "nicking" back a lot of possession, like Pennington. They're not perfect but they put in a lot of work and effort.

I was surprised and amused when Rufer scored, Pennington ran back onto the field over to Paulsen and they were both celebrating. It meant a lot and it says that this is a happy squad. They look out for each other.

It really amused me when Pennington confirmed that "someone saw [him] sprint across the pitch to Alex to celebrate" as a response to the first question in the below presser.

I guess that means he reads the forum and thereby gets to enjoy all of kungfu panda's posts, too?

P.S. Congratulations on the looming fatherhood, Nico!

You guys are making up stories. I didn't have a clue what Pennington did when the goal was scored. I was well into my second bottle of brandy.... 🙄

Where is it that he's an expectant father?

Congratulations from KP as well...

Since the CCM game thread hasn't been opened yet. So sorry for rehashing back to this one.

Good to see the club made a bit of money on a crowd of 9139.

Does that set the standard for turning a profit on game days? Circa 9k in attendance, or are there other variables to take into account?

Obviously we'd like to see more through the gates, but that's a good sign if we can make some money on a slightly lower attendance. Given we've been told previously we need 10k to turn up on the day.

Domey said yesterday in a press conference that a 25k crowd would “fund the club for an entire year”.
Assume 20k extra ticket sales at an average price of $25 a ticket is $500k extra sales.
The club earns about 2mil from the APL right for broadcasting and stuff like that? and the deficit must be covered by the owners eg running costs so I suppose he is referring to that?

They open less of the stadium than they used to.  Probably less costs for staff and stuff, so quite possible that 9k is now sustainable.

Would rather we had 30k in attendance every week so we were progressing rather than surviving.   But 1 step at a time haha

He said ticket sales are slow at the moment.
I think it’s because most people are just getting through the week, and won’t start thinking about Waitangi Day plans until Sunday/Monday. Won’t get a proper indication of crowd numbers until Monday.

Didn't he say selling out the stadium, aka 35k?
