A made the point on the podcast about Chief wanting to create the best chances of the game. Just to highlight this, we have faced 104 shots this season, and only taken 50. But we've had more big chances (12) than the opposition (9) which includes 2 pens.
So 24% of our shots are pretty good ones, compared to 8.7% for the opposition. That compares to 22% and 19% last season. On average, each of our shots has a 15% chance of going in, compared to 8% for the opposition.
We've conceded 4.22 fewer goals than we should have according to Xg. About 1.5 of those are the two pens, but much of the rest is just an accumulation of very low chance efforts.

The fewest within the last 10 years was 12 goals, with the fewest ever across the opening 9 being 10 under Ricki-ball (the most being 20 in the Kalezic season, I still think he owes me my season ticket money).

I don't think he deserves it this month sadly. It was a toss up between Popovic or Jackson for me, went with Jackson as he's done well to turn it around and they've been scoring for fun.
Don't know if it's still the case but the A League under the FFA used to put out social media statistics and the Nix were always among the top teams, if not top, for social media engagement.

And with coaches.... we launched Talay's career as Head Coach too. And dare I mention Rudan.
The recent strategy post the disastrous Kalezić, of appointing youngest Aussie coaches in their first head ALM coaching role, has worked out pretty well. Rudan, Talay & now Italiano the last 6 seasons. Making finals in 5 of those 6 seasons, and 7th in the other season. Two of those seasons mostly no home games due to Covid.
But yes you appoint an Australian coach, and he's successful it's natural at some point he may wish to return across the Tasman. Too quick with Marko. After 4 seasons about the right time with Uffie.
Already you can sense that the defence guru Adam Griffiths is maybe a potential successor to Chiefy. That's if Griffiths hangs around long enough. Otherwise Greenacre now has the right badges from memory. Temple could develop as an option. But no point fretting with these Chiefy leaving rumours which will now be regular thing, as long as he stays at the Nix.
