ARRGGGGH!!! you embody the things that are wrong with our country, we have become a whinny whinging defeatist people, even when we get a good result some people act like its a loss.

For goodness sake they are ranked 64 we are 100, they were only just beaten  by Aus and Japan at home so yes they are bad in front of goal & not as good as I thought but they are not the donkies you make them out to be.

If it was a game against on of the Island nations then we would all have a right to be upset at the result but it was a tough away game in a hot unfamilier enviroment against a team ranked almost 40 places above us, be happy for goodness sake.

yes they are donkies.

they dive at every opportunity and fake injuries (was the golf cart that came on in the first half to take away a player really necessary ?????????)

i bet the guy who hit the post from 3 yards with no keeper in sight is cleaning up Camel sh*t right now.

as i said before - take Elliot off (HE OFFERS NOTHING !!!!) i mean really what did he do apart from passing backwards every time he got the ball

and don't even get me started on Lochhead........... countless times he runs to the side line only to turn back and pass either to the keeper or Nelson. (NOT GOOD ENOUGH) and when he does get into a crossing opportunity he f**ks up. Bar on good cross the whole game.

all i am saying is Ricki and the team have to sharpen the f**k up and actually play like they want to win.

if we play at the rof like we did this morning we will lose. simple.

good call about Bahrain being 40 places above us in FIFA ranking. Although, FIFA rankings are a little fickle as a team must play at least 5 internationals in a year to get any points... surely we don't play that many internationals each year, which means we are not too likely to increase our ranking as easily as many other teamsscarf.man2009-10-11 08:32:49

I watched Bahrain v Australia in Manama. Bahrain pummelled the Aussies for 90 mins. They dominated possession more than they did today and camped in the Aussies half. Schwarzer pulled off a number of bloody good saves, before the Aussies pinched a goal in the 93rd minute. That was a full Australian side, all its European based players, and they acknowledged they were bloomin lucky. Bahrain has finished 5th in Asia, beat Saudi Arabia in the pre-play-off. It is ridiculous to bag this morning's result.

Need to have less space in the midfield for Bahrain to play in the second leg, offered too much room today

 Ricky says...  "fantasitc result"

"dissapointed if he sees a yellow seat at westpac"

"important start, miles away from home, couldn't be more pleased"

speaks about Paston  being brilliant. Says Wood and Mcglincy where great for only being 21 and 18

He is delighted.

he's proud of the boys

Speaks highly of Nelsen, and Siggy.

Miles gave Siggy MOTM

Kevin fallon says.. "fantasticresult, we havn't done it yet, early days, got to keep it going for 2nd leg, believes it will be packed house, coped with everything, strange looking formation paid off, didn't think he got the best of Fallon.. typical.. claims Smeltz did nothing and Fallon should of stayed on, bias! THought Bertos did alright but he is a winger and was a strange decision

Claims when Wood and Mac claim on we nearly lost it in the 10 min spell til they settled, I disagree!

Nelsen on air : - proud, match them with desire and commitment, proud to be a kiwi, he claims we are FIRED UP!

i
So what so do the Spanish, the Brasilians etc.etc.

Look at it this way they chucked all they had at us and we held them and scored the only goal of the match (even if it was offside) so stop being all doom and gloom and look to us beating them at home.

Flippin heck even Kevin Fallon thinks we will beat them.

it just pisses me off.

and yes, that is what i am disappointed in - we held them off !!!! it seems like that was the game plan.

WE HAVE TO WIN !!!!!!!!!!

you don't go into a game looking to 'hold off' the opposition.

McGlinchey should start in Wellington provides opportunities for the strikers,Elliott and Brown created nothing,Sigmund was strong and even Paston did well, thought Smeltz was very quiet,Killen and Fallon were strong up front

You do when you are playing away in a World Cup qualifier against a team who are on paper ranked a lot higher than you, also factor in the heat & humidity

Most people think the same it's just your general attitude to a good away result that people don't agree with

yeah i thought elliot gave the ball away alot. McGLinchey should def get a look in. Wood looked promising. they deserve a start and a better formation at the ROF

Bertos should play at his normal position. I thought Tim Brown sucked. he should warm the ROF seats

yes, but that the thing - it's only on paper. you can't say Bahrain is a quality team without feeling like an idiot.

the fact is they were poor, and NZ were poor not to capitalize especially in the way they performed.

No, it's not people don't see it, it's just that they don't agree with it.  Just like you refuse to take on what everyone else is saying and hope that if you repeat your views every twenty seconds they will miraculously become everyone elses view.

the result was GOOD IF YOU DID NOT SEE THE MATCH.

i am saying the performance was poor.

we can do a lot better and i hope we do come nov 14.

I also think that if the all whites had more friendly games before today that they would of looked more of a solid unit. and even won.

ok then, you think Elliot was quality today ?

I think he did the job asked of him and that in every other game in the last 18 months he's been one of our best so there was no reason in the world he would not have started. He holds possession is invariably in space and completes passes which is the job he is asked to do.

do you think Brown and Elliot together created enough in the mid-field for the 3 strikers ?

because i believe Mcglinchey did more running and created more in the mid field than Brown and Elliot put together.

you must have noticed the difference when little mac came on ??????

if you leave elliott and replace brown with Mcglinchey i believe they will end out working well together.
