I would've thought Smeltz would play in behind Killen and Fallon.

could be a 3-1-3-1-2

     Siggy  Nelsen  Vicelich
                Brown
 Bertos McGlinchey Lochhead
                Smeltz
      Killen            Fallon

I don''t really like it but could still work.

if only we could have Manny!!! would make life alot easier

playing smeltzy there would be a waste

I know but unless we play Mac CAM then someone would have to stay back from the front 3.

just feel we would be too front heavy. god knows tho.

maybe

        Killen        Fallon
               Smeltz

All the faith in Ricki tho so believe he'll do the right thing on Satday.

proved us all wrong with that 3-4-3 in Manama, so no reason to think he won't do us proud!!!

why not just play 2 up front

Practicing alot of free kicks at the far end of the ground. Lots. They're using Tigers rugby post protection as a wall. 9/10 getting over & past keeper into net.
Near end is a mini game. Very compact & busy work in the penalty area.

They depart Sydney 11:40 am Gulf Air. Confirmed.

Such a shame. I don't get in until after 6pm, and Air NZ won't allow me to go on standby for an earlier flight.

Won't get a chance to see the players after the game on Saturday either, since they won't have a victory lap to do after the game

Traitor (I feel bad calling you that), you are a bloody legend mate

I've been told not to take ANY photos.
Already have.
This is a closed session lol absolutely NO press or unecessary persons. Security told me I would be asked to leave an hour ago.
I'm still here.

They are worried about their impending "doom" on Saturday

Woah. This is going to be huge. Can't wait for the game!
My aim is to have absolutely no voice left walking out of the stadium.

My aim is to have no voice left as i stumble out of the stadium.

Allegedly

IMPORTANT:
what's the story with the 'biggest team photo' in the world? Will they take pictures of us as we get into the stadium?
When will it be released and for how much?

Umm wee bit, I gotta say I was a little nervous tonight yeah. Security told me they escorted a couple of Kiwis off the ground before I got there. "Cheeky buggers" I said.
Old bus driver told me a few yarns (he's the official Socceroos Bus driver & has been for years) as did an FFA official who got me to take a Team Photo at the end.
Got another photo of Macala too, this time with SFC Scarf! Hopefully no f**k ups.
He'd make a great addition to the A-League.
Hey, you never know.

I'd have Fallon and Smeltz up front together with Leo playing in his preferred position. I guess it's a choice between leaving a hole at right back but having more going forward with Leo or not having that defensive frailty but also not having that attacking threat. It's a tough choice. valeo2009-11-11 23:01:17

yea i like the idea of leo playing more attacking. if we can score first and control the tempo of the game he can drop back more often, as can everyone

thats what makes me nervous.. how can he be in the all whites squad if he isn't playing regularly? anyway, i know its been covered before so i'll be nervous in quiet

Two sleeping nights to go, I stand by ,my original prediction that we need an early goal, if we score in the first 20 minutes we will go through, if we don't, well I don't want to think what will happen.

I think he's there to help with training. (make up the numbers) I dont think he'll play if he hasnt had any game time with Phoenix.

To be fair to the guy (and not many are) Mully looked the goods at training yesterday. In the practice game they had, he lined up in CM in "the rest" side against a shadow starting XI.

Mulligan was, by some distance, the most impressive of the players in his team. Seeing him train yesterday I'd have no qualms with him stepping in for the suspended Lia at DM for the Nix. But for AWs - he looked like a good option for the bench (especially if Elliot is out).

If they're leaving Syd at 11:40 ET. Then that's 13:40 NZ Time. Then add 2.5 hours to that?
Be safe to assume arrive Welly between 16:00-16:30?

I'm just checking my tickets. What does ASL stand for, and what does L stands for in "section 25L"?
How close does the White Noise zone come around? I bought my tickets in presale and they weren't an option to buy then
over 16 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
L means Left - so you enter through Aisle 25, and go left to your seat.

You'll be about 2-3 aisles away from the White Noise zone.

2 day to go... how can time go so slowly?

Just saw some fellas in FIFA jackets strolling down the bottom end of Lambton quay. maybe heading for the ROF. maybe the officals?

So reading in the papers we are looking at going for 3 up front.

I still don't think this is the best idea. If bertos is to push up then we are a bit lite down the back.

Didn't like seeing smeltz out wide crossing back in the 1st match. But i will trust Riki..
