At the MCG in 1997 against Iran, he was a star (besides Kewell) possibly his peak of his career-  his form around that time.

He was heard on ABC radio doing the radio call for Glory vs Victory game recently.

FIFA has a "follow your team" option for WC 2010 tickets. How many have put their money on the line already for the AW games in South Africa?

These specific country allocations are limited, even Australia's allcoation had sold out BEFORE the play-off game back in 2005. I'd recommend that (depending on saturday's result) it's best to apply after the play-off game via FIFA or via the NZF preferred supplier.

We got all our tickets to 2006 via the 2nd round FFA offer here. FIFA only gave us 1 match to go to (Aust vs Croatia), so I sold them to a mate who was heading over then used the 3 x FFA tickets for the Oz group games. We then got lucky with the FFA in Germany for the Aust vs Italy game for tickets.

FYI - In Germany, scalpers (even though we didn't need them) were selling tickets for around 150 Euros.

The only time it was hard for anyone to get a ticket was versus Brazil, when they were charging about 400 Euros per ticket.

Just some info that you may need to know.

FIFA has already snipped my Visa for over USD500 for 3 category 1 seats to the AW's (potential) group games.

Sounds right, especially if you ordered decent seats for yourself. FIFA don't muck aorund with the credit card thing!

The World Game dudes are talking about taking the drum kit out to the Bahrain Hotel at 1am tonight, wonder if the NZ boys here will kick in funds (more like a keg of beer) for the oz boys to do this?

The World Game Dudes?

Just had a look at Leichhardt Oval. It's in pristine condition, bloody beautiful.
The groundsman said the team turns up at 18:00 but I'll most likely get the bum's rush as they're all closed sessions.
In his words "they're very serious people".

I'd like to know more about this drum thing.

Someone on the World Game Forum (saudi madrid???) mentioned if anyone was up for taking the drums outside the team hotel at 1am whilst they're in Sydney, something along those lines...

what are you going to do to them?
over 16 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Just greet them. If you hadn't gathered I am a Muslim New Zealander

Seems at least to me that this isn't going to be a game with a hostile atmosphere. We may be able to create a hostile atmosphere for 90 minutes but at the end of it all I'm pretty certain that people will be civilised regardless of the result.

Or at least I hope it will be.

I must admit I wondered at one stage if you were a Bahraini spy who just didn't realise you'd given yourself away with an Arabic name.

Just watched the highlights of Blackburns last game....how good is Ryan Nelsen/. Captains the side....sets up a goal and then bangs in another. Hops on a plane straight after the game flys for 23 hours and then, cool as ice gives some great interviews. He is the backbone of the AW's. He's the reason I reckon we have a good shot at winning next Saturday.

I got challenged a sec ago buy Bahraini dude. He asked if I was New Zealand or a journo (I'm carrying Nikon D70) but I told him I was Sydney fc supporter (true that) then showed my v1 season pass from my wallet, after asking a few basic SFC questions he was all good. Says their coach is a good fiend of ours. Said I could stay & meet him.

He didn't look tired today at practice, he gave 100%. Top Class considering the trip and jet lag type stuff.

f**king hell. That dude who questioned me brought the Bahraini coach over to meet me as a sfc fan. He did this silly pose & said "send that to Lavicka!".
Then he came over & shook my hand. That dude said I can come to all the training sessions.
Posting this from my iPhone I have to get home. Will post a couple of pics later.
Ps lots spot kicks & running crosses to just outside of the penalty area most of which ended up in the net.
They're having fun.

Sorry about the pics, they're useless. Something wrong with the Compact Flash. Half of them didn't download & those that did are squiggly. Shame as I got a great pic of Macala & some training goal shots
Of course now that I've deleted & re-formatted it's working fine.
Good thing is I can do it all again tomorrow, will make this week go faster.

Ahmad I didn't realize they were arriving in Welly on Thurs, seems a little early to me.
I'll get that confirmed tomorrow.

Weird how he kept referring to NZ as "it". Poor grammar,or considering us a 'thing' rather than a nation of humans? Is it bad that out of the entire article thats the one thing that stood out for me? Just bugged me the whole way through...

You are lucky to live in a country with 'free speech', Malaysia is a 'bit different !!My wife is Malaysia/Chinese and used a word I am not allowed to say in this forum in regard to your comment.' I am trying to use 'ironic' humour to show my passion for this game. Apologies about negative comment in regards to NZRFU, but I do find rugby a dull game. Glorious victory is "Negative"???? This is NZ's number one sport re participation and is a 'workers game' . I am fully positive and looking forward to NZ victory vs Bahrain, sometimes I forget NZ people are so earnest and serious and lack a certain sense of humour.  lol Don't worry we will win.

Yeah but your making it out to be a competition where the result of the weekends game will see which sport will come out as the number one sport in NZ,whereas thats not the case. Itll be great for football in NZ,and has nothing to do with rugby.

You're being negative toward rugby, when its completely unneccesary to do so,it should be all about positive support for the AWs and how great it would be for our team to be in the WC instead.

(and yes i find rugby dull too,so dont just say "well, your just saying that and getting defensive because you like rugby. I really dont.)

CMON ALL WHITES!!!
