i would have added  clapham and boxall to the team plus fallon and a gleeson and you have 23 for the wc

i read that Clapham scored 11 goals in 13 games,  for his team.  A  central or right midfielder that scored that much should be in the squad of the national team, plus i dont get why he is not signed by Wellington Phoenix, he is a very good and solid  player , regards  Javier

With the squad we have, we should win by at least 4/5 goals. If not, then we have a problem.

I know what you mean, but I'm just happy enough with a win. Hope we don't end up with another shocker of a ref.

On a positive note, many of the players will have recent happy memories of playing here a few weeks prior. Hopefully the pitch won't be as firm underfoot this time though.

This a literary joke right? Please tell me you threw this name in for comedy value...

Edit: Bold is not working. I had Andrew Milnes name highlighted.

Intercity Buses leave at 7:45am and 2pm from ChCh. So before you land, or arrive in Dunedin after the game has started. Maybe some ChCh guys are going down again?

Why would you add Clapham and Fallon? Ahead of who? Yeah you have 23 for the world cup, but this is just two games. You don't need to bring over a whole bunch of guys who won't play.

The Ref we had for the Solomon Islands game, Bertrand Billon seemed pretty good, although his linesmen were atrocious.
Unfortunately though he's from New Caledonia. As long as we don't have the same ref as the last match. Although we could do with getting a few yellow cards so certain players serve their bans in the Solomons and not over in the Americas.

Fallon is LONG gone. Got a good goal to take us to the world cup but in all honesty he is a fair bit off our other 5 strikers.

So everyone in Dunedin was apparently "holding off the Phoenix" because they were going to the All Whites instead.

Get into it then.

No. I`m Dominik and I`m from Poland. But I very intrested football.
Henderson play in Swedish highest league clube - Mjallby AIF.
He play 12 games and score 2 goals in last season when he come back after injury.

Yup we know. Hes also not played for 2 years before that. Hes been in the side before but gotten injured. He'll get another chance barring injury

I've been following Craig Henderson's career in Sweden and agree with Dominik above that he should be in the reckoning.

He's been injury-free since his comeback last July in friendlies and from August till the season's end in November he  was a regular starter for Mjallby and did well.

Mjallby have shown real faith in Hendo by signing him to a new two year deal before Xmas and has featured in all their recent pre-season games. Swedish season kicks off next month.

See this thread:

http://forums.yellowfever.co.nz/categories/kiwi-players-overseas/topics/craig-henderson-mjallby-aif/page/6

"It feels great that Craig has chosen to extend. This ensures continuity in the team and it is very important. I think 2013 will be a very good year for Craig", says the club's sporting director Thomas Andersson-Borstam to Mjällbys website.

Midfielder Henderson has had some injury-filled years in Mjallby, but could this year finally show up in the headlines.

Craig Henderson is a nice footballer. He was one of the ones from that u20 side that had Keat, that kicked on. I rated him as a younger footballer but he is untested internationally so that is an unknown. He really does need an extended injury free stint where he knocks up some games. Is he still playing in the middle of the park?

Craig has been playing upfront for his Swedish side, not exactly an area we need to look far and wide for. Maybe he has a case instead of players like Kosta who are getting no game time,.

$100 and you could drive there and back. $96 seems rather expensive, you can get to Melbourne for that price if you get the timing right. I didn't even realise you could fly from Chch to Dunners. Would significantly cut travel time though I guess.

Argh that was a reply from a comment on the previous page, forgot to quote it. Not doing it now, you get the gist.

Craig played one pre-season friendly last month up front only because of inuries to the regular forwards - however he played exclusively in central midfield or  left of midfield last season in Sweden.

Ricki should know what he can do pretty well after 12 u-20 matches and 8 u-23 games for NZ, including vs. China, Brazil and Belgium at the Beijing Olympics.

Sweden's Premier League is not a bad league - better than A-League in my reckoning and you can see Hendo in many You Tube videos of last season's Mjallby games - check out the ones listed as "seven months ago" or less which mostly include Hendo, the full match ones are the best:

This match is next week, is there much hype, advertising in Dunedin?

Advertising - yes. Vastly better than the Phoenix effort and it kicked off as soon as the Phoenix match had finished. Signs up in the city though far from saturation (still much better though). Player appearances already confirmed more than a week out which helps push the message.

Not sure how much the locals are getting into it though. FFS it will be the ONLY Brazil qualifier to be played in Dunedin so just bloody well get your tickets.
