All Whites V New Caledonia 22 March 7:35pm - Craft Bar or Four Kings

Is there advertising through the varsity?

I believe there is something but apparently $15 is still too expensive going by the Nix game. Students prefer $12.50 Zoo tickets where they can party and piss up and act like animals (so essentially Fever Zone) or $15 from the local pub which gets them a drink and buses to and from the match.

Very little buzz about this game. Sad face.

That is a bit shite.  Maybe when the players start arriving and there's a bit of telly coverage things will pick up.  Or basically Dunedin get no more games.

Me and a mate are going to start work on Rojas banner to bring down. Any ideas?

FIFA WC qualifiers are slightly more important than a Super 15  round robin game...

I take it this game is Dunner's last chance saloon for AW/Nix fixtures.

I'm not expecting much of a crowd as Dunners is too rugby/partizan.  I think the large Nix crowd for the pre season game a while back was more of a curiosity thing then a true idication of Otago interest.

I'm happy for Dunedin/Otago to prove me wrong, just don't expect they will.

I am working in Dunedin this week and have scheduled to include this game into my plans.  Is there anywhere where everyone is meeting prior to kickoff?  I am working at my sisters bar in Albany street, which happens to be the closest bar to the stadium.  Would be good to get in a few wets prior to kick off.

Last couple of matches have had drinks in the Octagon, and this is yet to be confirmed for Friday but I'm hoping this will be finalised soon. A couple of weeks ago we were at Craft Bar for the post-match.

Oh crap. So we are going to end up with more people in Dunedin pubs watching a losing franchise team of former stars than at the Stadium watching a World Cup Qualifier.

Remember, we are in New Zealand.

Three for me, and two for them.

Agree. The only match in town this Friday night in Dunedin at 7:35pm will be that being played 1300km north at Waikato Stadium.

What do you think will be the formation we will play?

Will Ricky keep a couple of the players who are at risk of suspension on the bench or will he go all out to the the win and the mathematical qualification?

When will we hear about Dura's application to FIFA? I hope we're not receiving it by fax...

Zing!
It arrived by FAX...according to Fred DJ. I guess the FIFA carrier pidgeons can't fly in this weather. FAX FFS...most people under the age of 30 would not know what a FAX was.
I hope Ricki plays WeeMac in the position that he has done so well in all this year i.e centrally just in behind the striker......which should be Wood, as Smeltz has been average this year. Ivan holding mid with ????. Will he go with three across the back with Locky and Leo in their normal wing back roles. Can't really seeing Ricki doing anything too radical. Moss should start
                          Moss
         Winston, Smith, Dura/Siggy
Leo,            Ivan,   Keat???,      Lockhead
                      Weemac
           Rockarse           Wood

Shane Smeltz - If we produce what we know we can we shouldn't have a problem Tue, 19 Mar 2013 8:44a.m.
All Whites striker Shane Smeltz joins the show as the team makes their way to Dunedin for this weeks World Cup qualifier as they eye a playoff for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

''We got a fax from Fifa, but we've gone back to them, because we wanted to get a bit more clarification around what they put in their fax,'' de Jong said.

''Basically it said 'yeah, based on the information you've given us, it looks OK'. So we've gone back to them, just asking for something a little more definitive.

"We're hoping to get that in the next couple of days.

"We don't want to take any risks, we just want to make sure that we're on very safe ground.''

I would like to see

            Moss
Leo Reid Smith Hogg
      Payne Keat
       McGlinchey
Rojas Smeltz Kosta

Id have Wood there for second game, but Smeltz will be fresher.

I can't believe FIFA would send a fax like that - that's rubbish. I'm sure we asked for an official clearance, we didn't ask "do you think it's OK if we play him??" - because what would happen if they change their mind at a later stage???

Leo at right back, youre shitting me right? We've gone this whole Nix season being absolutely defensively farkin dire, having only really improved since moving Leo out of the back line. Its no coincidence.
