Chris Killen's out.  He's having surgery to remove floating bone fragments from his knee.

Have Blackburn made up a fake injury for Nelsen yet, as to why he won't be there this time

Has Ricki called up a replacement for Killen? How's Smeltzy now? Over the flu or whatever it was? We could be looking a bit short in the goal scoring dept

Brockie must be a possibility on recent form?

Is it even being televised?

I am looking forward to this after last night. Massive football matches for NZ, with a lot riding , World cup play offs and Confed Cup

TVNZ has the rights to the qualifying campaign - so they better be televising the away fixture!

It'll definitely be on at Four Kings....if it's not I'll switch allegiance to Everton.

Just seen Ryan has apologised for the way he made his comments re the Nix. Not what he said but the way he said it, wouldnt it have been nice if he had come the week of the Pre Season final and not this week. Things would have looked a whole lot rosier

Saturday's game won't be broadcast because of Air NZ Cup rugby, but next Wednesday's game at NH might - I'll check it out.  Andrew D will be commentator for that one.

I've been doing some Googling - this station may have the Saturday game, in French at least. No promises, but the game is on their agenda(is that the same word in French?)

Starting XI:
Glen Moss, David Mulligan, Ryan Nelsen (c), Ben Sigmund, Tony Lochhead, Allan Pearce, Simon Elliott, Duncan Oughton, Leo Bertos, Jarrod Smith, Shane Smeltz.
Substitutes: Mark Paston, Andy Boyens, Steven Old, Jeremy Christie, Jeremy Brockie, Chris James.

a couple of interesting selections there...can't argue with Moss getting the starting spot (although I thought it was Paston's to lose?), Pearce flying the NZFC flag in midfield and Smith getting a start in the attack.

It does highlight how short of options we are at the pointy-end - who would be next in line if (perish the thought) one of our strikers gets injured...Ellensohn?

A call to arms for our Auckland brethren:

...for the all whites game...will you be there?... get the word out that we're getting the band back together...meet up at the speights ale house from say midday-ish...sing a bit of crystal gale, bonnie tyler, the tokens, tom hark, papa's got a brand new pig bag etc...our kid will be there too...football kingz attire is a pre-requisite...

You can guess who that's from...

i think it would have to be, followed by Costa/Draper.

Quite a healthy squad and the line up isnt a bad one. although i may have swapped Boyens for Siggy

yea good squad. agree with perhaps boyens for siggy and would like to see paston given a chance as i think moss has been in indifferent form in last 2 games for nix

I wonder if it's a sign that Moss may be 'rested' for the Mariners game. I remember last season Moss getting the Phoenix matches while Paston got the AW game(s), and making the Nix goalie position his own.

Alternatively, Ricki may give Paston the New Caledonia match in Auckland so Moss has the week off before the CCM match.

If he makes player related decisions like that then it's obvious we need a seperate coach for the All Whites or Phoenix. Phoenix related matters should not come into the national setup.

Anyone know if tonight's match is online anywhere (TV or radio) that overseas NZers can watch?

Everyone knows my opinion on these two. As Ricki has been picking Moss ahead of Patson for the Nix than surely he has to stick with that same choice for the All Whites. Though Moss has'nt had the best of starts for the Nix in goal I have seen a big improvement in the part of his game that I have prevoiusly criticised him for. He dosent appear to be comming off his line and flapping at the ball when crosses are comming in anymore.

So exactly who is meeting at the speights alehouse. Surely not just the ultra brothers?

Fiji just gone 2-0 up against Vanuatu with a couple of minutes to play.
I know you've all been hanging out for that one!

Edit: and 2-0 is the final score.  Goals to Salesh Kumar (7') and Dunadamu (87') for all the trainspotters out there.   ...   Like me.

Come on you All Whites!

Doesn't seem like it? Weird. I will probably be at 4 Kings, or possibly another pub, to watch the game... and I'm not even kiwi!
